I hope there was reference in the covering email as to your identity in sending this back to them, such as your name, address, PCN ref number, car registration number?
Spend threshold? You think they even go there?! I can't imagine for one second they even have any direct dealings with the onsite stores/restaurants, do they
There may well be a clause in their contract with the landowner that genuine customers should be provided some leeway. Often 'genuine customer' is defined by the value of their spend - ParkingEye, on many of their retail sites, normally work on £35.

  • Ha, sorry, yes... The reference number as well as the keepers details were included.

£35 minimum spend? What if you just went there for something to eat, KFC or whatever. You'd have to be going some to spend that! It's possible though, granted :-)

But you put the PCN ref and your name and VRN in the subject line surely?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That's why I'm suggesting it might be possible to get an idea of where their threshold is. The PE £35 isn't necessarily set rigidly, there may be cases where £35 expected spend might be too high and they make adjustments to accommodate that - no one here is privy to their inner workings, but we do know on large retailer sites like Aldi and Morrison, £35 seems to be the level.

Yep, belt and braces! I forwarded my response to the email address you provided on a different thread. That includes the reference of the charge. The keepers details were included in the message body.

    I eagerly await their response...
  • Had a reply from UKPC today, the charge has been cancelled.

Firstly, a BIG thanks to everyone that's offered advice/guidance to sorting out this little annoyance! It's astonishing to think there are people still out there though that cough up the £££ without doing their homework first. I know at least two people that did

So, is it safe to get rid of all the "evidence" now regarding the matter or is it worth holding on a while in case there's any follow up?

    Thanks again everyone!

    Well done.

I personally would retain this as in general UKPC cannot be trusted

Nice one, well done on taking them on. Feel free to pop back here and offer advice to others who fall foul of this tacky industry. You've had first-hand experience, which even some regulars have not.

Nice to get this off your back before the festivities commence.
