Hi guys,

A £100 UKPC ticket for "Vehicle owner/driver left site" was left on my car's windscreen today... what do I do? Obviously I don't believe I should pay it as I can't be sure for certain who the driver was!

Is it just a case of a straight forward appeal, I suppose I'm really after what to write etc. I read conflicting things; whether or not to use your own name, acknowledge you were the driver etc.

I need a starting point :D

Thanks.

Is this at Coppins Bridge, IOW?
  • Start with the appropriate template letter from the **NEWBIES** thread. It's pointless doing anything more really, as it'll be rejected regardless.

If you feel you must, then by all means point out that the driver was actually browsing in the shops on the site to which the car park was attached. Further, if there was an attendant on site who watched the driver park the car and then leave the site, why was the attendant not attempting to mitigate the loss by warning the driver they were not permitted to leave the site? You can also ask for the evidence of a) who the driver was and b) the proof of them leaving the site.

But it's probably not worth it at this stage.

Whatever you do, DO NOT INDICATE WHO WAS DRIVING. Your OP should really be somewhat obfuscated on that point also.

Just shows what muppets they are, how can their tame chimp possibly state that the owner left site they don't know who the owner is.

Read the newbies thread and never admit to being the driver, they will have no evidence that anyone left site and there was a thread today where they backed down on this scam.

    Hi guys,

So after walking round Maplins and Staples today for an hour I returned to find a £100 UKPC ticket for "Vehicle owner/driver left site" on my windscreen... what do I do? Obviously I don't believe I should pay it! Fortunately, and I hadn't planned on spending anything, I bought a bit of stationary in Staples AND I kept the receipt.

I got a ticket there as well for the same "offence".
Follow Coupon Mad's advice in the stickies - wait for the NTK, send the template appeal as the Registered Keeper and under no circumstances reveal the identity of the driver.
You don't need to worry - "leaving the site" is completely unproveable unless they have video /photographic evidence of the driver having left the site, which they don't have.
Have a read of VCS vs Ibbotson to get an idea of what UKPC could expect if they were ever foolish enough to pursue their claim all the way to the courts.
  • Thanks for the responses people! I've read the sticky and sought advice from users here that have been "there" and I now have a game plan going forward. Thank you.

You'd have thought that by now that a company as prestigious as UKCP Ltd would have ironed out all these little creases in their tight operation, wouldn't you? Wouldn't it be an idea maybe to fit the driver of the cars in the carpark with some sort of GPS/tracking device as soon as they leave the vehicle which would then emit a high-pitched frequency if said driver left the vicinity? To remind them like, in case they strayed. Just a suggestion.

Another idea would be to hand over all your physical cash balance info/bank/card details to the astute, 'eagle-eyed' (clearly bind in my case!) parking attendant upon entering the carpark and liaise with them afterwards to cross-reference. If there were any non-transaction discrepancies they could issue your charge then, in person. A more hands on approach? It's the little differences that make ALL the difference.

I'm amazed actually that the above isn't happening already, in the current political climate. At the very least I'd expect UKPC to have direct access to the CCTV in the carpark (and surrounding areas) and live access to all of the transaction information of the businesses that use the carpark – that would that make life so much easier for them, wouldn't it? Further, why aren't their carparks full of budding photographer's waiting to observe their next client's activity? It's beggar's belief, they're really missing a trick there!

UKPC, if you're reading this, I hope the above pointers help you in some way? Your welcome.

I am unsure if this is a tongue in cheek type comment but the facts are ...

1: UKPC are not interested in behaving like a normal company.
They are part of the scam industry and they are certainly not prestigious.
Do remember UKPC is a company who fake pictures so they can get their grubby fingers on people's money.
This is the only reason they exist.
Feel sorry for their staff who earn wages to support their family who know that their job is in the scammers industry

CCTV is for security in car parks, available to the authorities, it is not available to scammers. The only tools available to them is a man with a camera or their own ANPR.
The only message you can give to UKPC is .... STOP SCAMMING

The important thing with a windscreen ticket is not to appeal too early, but don't miss the appeal deadline either. Get the BPA template in blue from the NEWBIES thread off to the scammers around day 25-26 online.
