The drop down menu hasn't got 'send him a personal message' option, does this mean he doesn't accept PM's?0 -
correct , no pm`s whatsoever because people either send abuse or abuse the privilege and some members expect experienced members to take over the case as if they were paying for it
you will find a lot of the experienced people who reply on forums like this one either keep their inbox full or switch off the pm system so that they remain in control
as they say in shops "a refusal often offends"
so no pm`s , sorry
and I have said all that needs to be said in this thread and in the other one , where I even reproduced my letter of complaint which centres on "reasonable adjustments" under the EA2010" , but at no time did I tell asda their stores and car parks fail the EA2010
IE:- USE THE CORRECT ARGUMENTS AND STAY ON TOPIC
as for those silly points about how long do people need to shop, its irrelevant , as I am talking about principles here
let me assume that my name is BEAVIS , I go to asda to shop and display my BB in a wide disabled bay with a wheelchair logo painted on the ground , enter the extra wide doors and leave a repeat prescription at the asda chemist to cater for all my ailments and leave a modern cheapo camera for picture processing with customer service, then do the shopping , go back inside and find that the photo department have a broken down developer and printing machine that needs fixing and the chemist is still awaiting my prescription tablets to be delivered on the next daily store delivery, so I go to the cafe for a bacon sarnie and a mug of tea in the warm, go to the loo (which has a disabled toilet for those that need it with extra wide doors) , have a word in the opticians about an eye test appointment and then top up my PAYG phone at the customer service desk , try on some GEORGE slippers and buy a pair , come back and eventually collect my photos and pills and promptly exit the store and car park via the petrol station pumps and paydesk, but I overstayed the 2 hour limit by 45 minutes so I get an NTK, then 3 court cases too including one in London at the supreme court.
really ????????????????
had I parked on the double yellow lines outside the car park I would have no ticket , no court cases , nothing to pay , move along nothing to see , zilch , nada , nowt
the asda limit is now 2 hours (reduced from 3), the BB is normally valid for 3 hours , so if asda give one hour extra which is the "norm" around here in the northern powerhouse , then asda will have abided by the EA2010 and matched the usual time allowed for disabled people to go about their lawful business even if they are on double yellow lines , with nobody asking them why it took so long (which is discrimination in itself)
how long it took me to do the above is totally and completely irrelevant and ASDA have now added my VRM to the global whitelist so I can take as long as I like in any of their UK stores, even the same one as the OP was parked in !!
given the latest response by ASDA to my long running query and complaint about my treatment under the EA2010 , who was correct ?0 -
Redx I understand about PM's, all will become clear when (and I mean when, not if) I bring this to a conclusion.
Thanks to everyone for their help.0 -
this recent post by CM in another thread explains the position nicely , no matter if its a PE car park or any other
alter to suit the car park in question (free or paid)Where there is a Blue Badge I would always attach it when appealing to PE, make sure the RK knows to do this ONLINE not by letter, and not to say they were driving. T
They can say something like this instead of the template appeal, no reason why not:
An occupant of the car is disabled - Blue Badge attached - and we understand that the BPA Code of Practice makes it mandatory that operators must allow significantly more time for people with mobility problems who will take more time to access such things as pay and display machines and make payment.
In this car park, the driver looked to see if additional time could be purchased but wasn't entirely clear if you were just buying another ticket as the signs were wordy and very high, so the driver and passengers decided to leave and not accept any contract beyond the one already concluded.
The grace periods applicable for disabled people must by definition be longer than the bare minimum mentioned for able bodied drivers/passengers, which mean that the time before and after paid-for time was entirely reasonable, given the circumstances.
anyone reading post #1 will see that the issue is quite a simple one, as pointed out by the OP
PE do not monitor the time in the BB bays, so they incorrectly treat allcomers to the same time limit by using ANPR cameras at the entrance and exit which is discrimination and a failure under the EA2010 and the BPA CoP too
SMART parking had a CEO onsite who monitored those bays and no anpr cameras were used , plus the signs welcomed BB holders and stated there were no restrictions but most BB holders tend to stick to the 3 hours maximum anyway
so the only method by which ASDA can fulfil their duties to a BB holder under the EA2010 is to offer the global whitelist option , ergo , that is the only answer given the modus operandi0 -
It is shocking that retailers think they 'have complied with the EA' by putting in some disabled bays. They think it's all about the bays - never mind that the arbitrary time limit discriminates. One day someone should sue a retailer over this.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am shocked.
Went to Asda today and asked at the customer service desk and asked what they would do if I requested longer than the permitted time to park, I was shown a touch screen in which they type your reg number so you won't get a parking ticket!
I couldn't believe it, it would appear that Asda are doing something about my (and possibly everyone else's) complaints!!!
The signs have also been changed, your now allowed to park for 3 hours not 2.5 which it was previously.0 -
But are there signs, either in the car park or in-store telling motorist about this screen? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
