Hiya,
I've got a couple of teeshirt with holes just like this - I just assumed it was from belt buckles and buttons on jeans and things - dunno about you but I sometimes catch this bit of the tee shirt when I do my trousers/belt up and I thought that would be where they came from?

by the way, yes I get little random clusters of holes too, most likely from catching it in different places every time?Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0

what a coincidence,i was just about to put this same question on here.We started smoking roll ups and first i thought it was this causing it where the ash fell(smokers will probably know what i mean) but then they happened on all my daughters clothes(no she doesnt smoke, shes 14 and VERY anti smoking).Ive no idea what it is. I did wonder if it was where i leave my pegs on the washing line and little insects crawl out and munch on them when i hang out the washing( I always hang washing from the bottom and the holes occur at the bottom of the t shirts etc.Its really annoying as nearly everything DD owns has a little hole in it.0

I have exactly the same problem, lots of little holes and always in the same place. My imediate thoughts where moths and then the items rubbing against belt ect but i think that it can be down to the quality of the material also.cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Hi, I wonder if it was seatbelt that did it? Def the right area, I have recently changed car so it will be interesting to see if it happens again...
I did wonder at first whether it was just cheap tops - but has happened to a white stuff top, and a marks and spencer one too, maybe the fine jersey I like is just not a sturdy material?
Thanks again0 -
Rather than starting my own thread I thought Id piggback on to the end of this one.
I had what I thought was a moths issue around 1/2 months ago. A couple of t-shirts started developing holes and quite a few too. I had all my clothes washed and ironed to stop it spreading and my other half bought some anti moth stuff. I opened my wardrobe yesterday to discover a t-shirt with a hole in it. The holes have a purple like colour stain around them which makes them quite distinctive. Is this moths or something else?0 -
I'm sure this is nothing to do with moths.
I would imagine as the holes are at waist level, that it could be caused cleaning products used, ie sprays containing bleach. i have had several tops affected by Mr Muscle and the likes.1 -

Is this the case? We had a massive moth problem in our old flat and I'm still digging out things like tshirts which have little holes and I have a cotton/polyester mix dress which I recently found a nice hole in with a moth 'cast' attached...
Have you seen any little thing flying around? Clothes moths are very small...**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

Moths will go for any natural fibres. My gran once had a terrible moth problem, and they ate anything that wasn't synthetic - knitting wool, socks, a fur coat, even the feathers on a stuffed bird. They are a pain to deal with and I remember what a nightmare it was trying to get rid of them st my gran's house. Our current house had a bit of a moth problem (the landlady said the bald patches on the carpet were due to a 'leak' - they weren't, it was moths) and the only thing that I've found that deals with them effectively is a cypermethrin based spray. It's worth spending a bit more for a dearer one, as the cheap ones stink to high heaven, but regular spraying does seem to keep them away.1
