Any suggestions? Was thinking of trying cedar balls...0

I've also heard that screwed up balls of newspaper do the trick. Something to do with the smell of the printers ink that puts them off I think, but I have never tried this myself.

We got moths too ...eaten the wool carpet right as you enter & found holes in various items of clothing, cedar/moth balls no good , there was mention of lavender/rosemary mix on BBC2 programme called Grow your own drugs- not had much success So am watching this thread with hope0

Looks like one of the sods has munched a hole in a woollen top of mine  While I appreciate Sandringham's approach, I think I'm more inclined to find a way to kill the things.0

Another thing I try to do is to keep my best Wool Sweaters stored away in clear bags; I am sure this helps. Also I was once advised never to put wool clothes away that haven't been washed as the Moth is attracted to dead skin etc.
Still trying to save those Moths in your house

Hello all,
We seem to have quite a moth problem here at the moment, but I'm not sure what the best way to get rid of them is? I know you can buy moth balls, but I don't want my clothes to smell of them. Are there any other things that I could try?
Thanks in advance,

If you go to tesco or anywhere like that they sell packs of moth killer that will eliminate the bother
You could also make packs out of dried herbs, like lavender, cloves, rosemary, ginsing and mint hang them in wardrobes etc etc see if that keeps them at bay.All stressed out ...... and no one to choke !!:D0 -
You could get some cedar balls from your local hardware shop - I have some balls and some discs that I fit over my coathangers, the cedar smells quite pleasant and it keeps the moths at bay.0

Quite frequently the problem is actually carpet bettle larvae rather than moths. Keeping the wardrobes and drawers clean and well hoovered frequently helps.
Seal spare clothing in plastic bags.
There is a huge assortment of ready available domestic insecticides, from laquers that continue to work for months to powders and vapour hangers that will kill both moths and carpet beetle.0 -
