    He didn't say they they were "instead of"?

    More = Additional
    But he's still incorrect. An AUC warranty, albeit a good thing to have, does not give you more/additional/etc statutory "rights", which was the point we were making. It'll give you extra protection, certainly but not more rights.

    They are a dream to drive, but you need deep pockets to run one...
    However you wouldn't have a clue about that though, would you.

    He didn't say "Statutory" though did he?

    It gives your rights under the BMW sponsored Approved Used Warranty, to be able to claim through it.

    That's how I interpreted it anyway.

    But yes, its worth clarifying for the avoidance of doubt.
  • Get an approved used car from the dealer. BMW reliability is carp in my experience and you'll likely need the warranty.

    When someone states the word "rights", most people would understand this to be rights as attributed by statute.

    I think were just arguing semantics though as we all agree that an AUC warranty, particularly from BMW is much better than a TP warranty or none at all if buying from an indie.

    Hasn't been in my experience of my last 10 years of BMW ownership, certainly no different to most other manufacturers.

    Getting hung up on only wanting to travel a short distance (yes, 50 miles is a short distance) is a sure-fire way of crossing an awful lot of potential good deals off your list. It's a car. You cannot get a more mobile purchase than that...

    It's interesting with perception of distance. I'd agree 50-60 miles is short and for the right car would travel much more than that.

    But if you don't want to travel, will the main dealer move a vehicle around their group?
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    Yes - but they'll use it to weaken your bargaining position.

    if you are brave enough to buy a car without seeing it sat on dealers forecourt BMW will do a video walk around for you and then post it online for you to view and if you buy the car many will deliver it to your door and then any problems take it to your local BMW dealers for warranty repairs
