True story.
Good friend at work tried for many years to conceive. It wasn't happening. She was told she had to lose weight (because of the effect on fertility and also because they wouldn't give IVF if she didn't)
Poor soul tried for a year and just could do it bless her.
Anyway so they gave up hope and did a complete lifestyle change, moving to the country, big house big mortgage 1 hr commute to work (because they knew they would have the money).
Bang she fell pregnant before they even moved into the house. She now has two lovely daughters. And is still the same weight.
The biggest block to fertility is worrying about your weight, clearly

I always wonder if anxiety stops conception. My Cousin tried for 7 years, had 3 rounds of IVF & fell pregnant naturally after all of that! My Mum tried for 6-10 yrs & had fertility drugs & again, fell pregnant naturally x0

Its proven that being overweight ( which I also am a size 16 and late 30's) carries an increased risk of miscarriage and birth problems. Its also tiring looking after a newborn and being fat doesn't help. I know for me I would feel bad if there were complications that might have been due to my weight. That's if you conceive anyway. A friend of mine tried for years and then had 3 miscarriages. Maybe her weight wasn't to blame but it was only after she slimmed down that she went on to have a healthy pregnancy. I found slimming world helpful.0

OP - forget the weight loss/blood pressure stuff.
How are your cycles? If they are good then you are good.
The stress of worrying of trying to be the perfect weight for the perfect pregnancy and perfect labour is what will put you at the most risk.
I needed several cycles of IVF to conceive. I had a singleton and a twin pregnancy and one went to 42 weeks and the twins to 38 weeks before they insisted on csec. I had zero issues in pregnancy, they were boringly uneventful. Fully recovered in days and breastfeeding, still am in fact.
I was fat to start with and I ate what I wanted throughout and lay on the sofa. Lots of supplements and lots of water.
I had a stone to lose after each pregnancy and am 5'2.
Not just saying it but it was always the skinnies who had a rough time.
You can always ask for metformin and clexane if you're worried xx0 -

Sorry, but this is very ill informed. Having a regular cycle is no guarantee that there aren't any fertility issues and a doctor will only prescribe metformin and clexane once they have diagnosed an issue for which they might provide help, they certainly aren't given out like Smarties because a patient asks for them.0
