So....When are the Christmas decorations going up?

It always seems to make the news ever year about Christmas decorations going up way too early. Personally I used to get annoyed when working in retail where all I would hear from October to the new year was the same 10 Christmas songs on a loop. This year, perhaps because I have not been out so much, things have seemed pretty tame. My local Tesco has got a Christmas tree and has started selling the minced pies but apart from that, it has not been as in your face as I remember it to be.
When I get paid on the 22nd of this month I am going to use that money to buy a Christmas tree, a couple presents and some Christmas decorations. The last few years I have been with my family and my grandmas and though it has been a nice day, things were a little drab. As this is my first Christmas in my new house I am going to make an effort.
I have switched my front Garden lights from white to colored just now :rotfl:
Officially for me, Decorations start on 22nd November with everything to be in place by December 1st.

Christmas is in December. No decs or (real) tree til mid dec.
Cake and mincemeat are made and I'm thinking about presents/ feeding people but husband has a large family so it takes a bit of organising0 -
As I am not a Christian, nor do I believe in a supreme deity of any kind, putting up decorations to celebrate the birth of someone whose religious authority I do not recognise, would be hypocritical. Nevertheless, despite the fact that my wife shares my opinions and secular beliefs, she will once again require me to help with the decorations. Because "Everyone else does it."
I suspect I am not alone in this!I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I've started bugging the other half to think about getting the tree down from the loft. So maybe 2/3 weeks from now, hopefully. I'll aim to get it done on one of the last days of November or 1st December depends on work rota.0

If it was up to me I wouldn't bother. My daughter would put the tree up on 1st December if I let her, so we have to compromise.
I suspect it might go up the third weekend in December as she's away the first two and there's not time during the week.

I don't put up my tree or decorations any more. Just me here and a lot of hassle putting them up and taking them down again so I just don't bother any more.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Its daft them selling Christmas food now because by the time Christmas comes it will be off. Even the mince pies will be stale. I think that every year when I see it piled up in the shops at the beginning of December. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
