2, Can't earn enough due to poor education.

Ugh, someone whose been lapping up all the rubbish in the Daily Hate Mail et al. The benefits system in this country is one of the meanest and one of the hardest to get. But the govt and the right wing media have succeeded in their contemptuous dividing poor against poor. Why don't you have a pop at the CEOs, the bankers, the MPS and lobbyists who are the real culprits here? It is very convenient for the rich to have the poor fighting against the poor while fleecing you. It's The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists all over again which I suggest you read. Or how about watching I, Daniel Blake to see what's really going on? Disabled people need money fore extra costs of disability. It's hardly luxury. Why don't you campaign for better wages? Do you not realise that the working poor are often on housing benefits and tax credits too? No, you just carry on believing all the lies and distortions you are fed instead of going out there and getting the facts

I have a very in-depth knowledge of what disabled people have been through and have campaigned against the welfare reform cuts for years so I challenge where I see plain bigotry and ignorance regurgitated from the daily hates. It would be someone with half a brain cell who would result to insult - the last refuge of the illiterate who have been successfully brainwashed. I prefer to think for myself and acquire the facts.

I think it's a bit off that someone who's interested in disability rights uses a term like 'retard'. I assume that's also what NYM was referring to.

My daughter (19) was waiting for psychotherapy on the NHS from January to September.
After four months she got some sessions with Therapy For You (which is frankly a rubbish service and doesn't constitute as therapy for serious mental illness). Even worse, when her 'therapist' went on holiday for a month she had no stand-in and my daughter had no one at all- she was already suicidal. This is shocking, bearing in mind if my dentist went on holiday I would be seen by an alternative professional.
If the government are only spending 8% of the NHS budget on Mental Health, I really can't see the therapy side of ESA ever happening, and if it did it would be a sub standard operation. People with mental health problems need assistance from properly trained experts. Sending someone like my daughter to a work related activity with the threat of loss of benefits would exacerbate her condition so I would hope that is not the outcome.

We gave up on the NHS and fund sessions with a private psychotherapist using my daughters ESA as the NHS is woefully inadequate on Mental Health, especially for young adults who react badly to meds.
