I ended up at a NHS walk in clinic this afternoon, diagnosed with a viral infection and mild chest infection, came away with some antibiotics and a new pack of tissues (how nice)
I traveled by train so I spent £7 on a ticket, but I have managed to pot £1 that was in the bottom of my handbag when fishing about for my rail card...
as they say every penny counts

Well I'm back from Ireland now to my home abroad, very sad and a bit upset. I want to go back but we still have so much to save before we leave here for our house.
Anyways, I've potted €5 this morning, so that's a start. I'll be potting much more from now on
Hi tattabubbly!! Whilst I'm really pleased you've managed to get to Ireland, I'm so very sorry you're so very sad about having to return back across the seas again.
Still, time to focus hard on saving up until you've enough money to be able to return home once again! :grinheart Every single penny will count so stay motivated!! A good start with your saving today so keep it going. Wishing you all a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year, and...chin up!
That's the spirit JellyB, keep that determination up! :j
You're welcome mrs-moneypenny. My DD still isn't so good but tests to help are still on-going. Meanwhile we live in hope!
That's strange Frogletina, it was your name that was forever in my sights every single time I tried doing it. It really was a nightmare as I wasn't even adding names just replacing new members and taking out ones that don't bother coming anymore. I'm smiling now - but I wasn't yesterday morning I can tell you. C'est la vie
I knew you'd be chuffed to still be on the list, dinglefoot, only just though! Excellent work with the way you viewed the slippers!! :T PS. I've just seen your reply to Dizzy Imp, naughty naughty!
Clearly you have far more self control than me. Can't beat unicorn slippers (unless of course there's a ladybird onesie and star deedeeboppers on offer)
£2 egg money potted, but the girls have slowed down following a month of confinement due to the avian flu alert by DEFRA. Should be OK to let them roam again at the weekend, so production, and therefore sales, should increase once more.
You so live up to your name, Dizzy Imp, cause I haven't a clue what the star deedeeboppers are, but then just maybe it's best you keep it to yourself.
I'm glad the girls have given you at least a little from their eggs; I bet they'll be as happy as larry to be let out again!
You're most welcome, 3forholidays, and thank you so much for popping your No on your siggy. All the very best in getting some £5ers potted at the weekend!
It's great to hear that your DD's also been bitten by the saving bug, HoneyBee! :ARe your pennies challenge as it'll be relatively close to a year on the 2nd Nov why not count it up along with your SPC this year; we then start again on the 3rd Nov so you could easily begin the 365 days then. It's up to you entirely but either way you're welcome to include the Total with SPC, just like any other MSE DFW challenges.
I hope you soon feel a whole lot better, Westie. There's a lot going around at present and I myself am getting over a nasty cold which is why I'm up at this stupid hour! PS. I've just seen your latest post, little wonder you were feeling so bad. Take great care oif youyrself....and those tissues!
Well done MLE007, you are doing very well.....
..... you too as ever Chutney!!
I hope you had a great time, beach-holiday. Very wise re the £1 coins and good saving! :j
Ah now there's a lovely lot potted, parcsandrec!
You do well with those £2ers don't you, MrsShazbat! Keep going.
Oooh very well saved, Fivebyfive!
You're welcome 32b3, I really do appreciate your help so much. By golly what a fantastic amount of time you have off!!
Bet you barely gave going back after new year a thought!! Ah, good luck to you and enjoy yourself.

Don't just ask your DH if he has any change, dinglefoot....grab hold of his ankles and hoist im up!! Anything that drops out.....yours! :rotfl:Don't forget to put him down again!! :rotfl:
You odd nu1isit?!!! :eek:I'd never say that even if I thought it!!! Well, maybe just a titchy bit.
It's good to hear you're all well, and you tinkering is the normal you!! Just great to see you home!
Thanks for the new year wishes, Helen, a very safe, healthy and happy new year to you also! It's so good to know that, if not fully over your chest infection, you're at least getting there!
Wow! Your Birthday spent at Disneyland eh!! Have an amazing time Helen, though I'm sure you'll make sure of that, I doubt you'll really feel the cold with all the excitement surrounding you!! Be sure to remind us before you go!
You're welcome SEASHELL. Brilliant saving so far so keep that motivation up!
You have a lovely weekend too, siju, and well done with the saving!
Nothing is dismal about 15p, lottielottie, that's part of £1 which little by little will add to another and another etc. Be patient and be very proud you're saving!! BTW, I've not been able to save anything for quite a few days!
Wooohaaaay Saver-upper a fantastic amount potted!!!! :j
£8ish is darned good too hummingbird!!!
Have an amazing weekend, SPCers, stay safe, healthy and potting!!! :j

Morning all!
Trip to town today for haircuts and football boots so will be spending far more than potting.
DS has left 18p on kitchen table for 6 days now... do you think he'd notice if I potted it? Lol!0 -
#019 OH Left 75p on their side so added that to my pot.If you dream it can you do it????????0

Still potting here :j I haven't been counting as its just a few bits of shrapnel most days, but I know it will all add up

I went to put ds dinner money change in yesterday and thought the 50p looked odd, when I checked it had Jemina puddle duck on, we have kept that one separate.0 -
Good morning Potters,
My 7p potted today...sounds so poor lol Threw some silver change into a pot also tho, extra Pot for counting or change for when I struggle with the £ each day, I haven't decide yet. Could be both I guess! If it isn't used for my penny challenge then I will count it separately.
Thank you Sue-UU! I do like the idea of doing this challenge from Nov 3rd this year. I think I will do as you suggest, sounds like the best way.
Successful potting days all!! XxEmergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000

You will need to see if you can find the other 4 coins!

Hi Savers....and Sue:smileyhea
A little update from me.
I work nights in a food production factory and have done for the past 10 years. It's a horrid job unfortunately but the pay is pretty good.
A few months ago we 'had' to change our working week from 12hr nights, 4 times a week to 8 hour nights, but 5 times a week.
As a thank you, the company paid everyone a £250 bonus at Christmas. Over the past 2-3 weeks I've also managed to add another £171 to bring it up to £421.
I don't give a t**s about the Barclayloan or the TBI debt, I don't care if they take forever to pay off (and they will!) I'm so happy I could cry right now because I've just gave £421.58 back to the most under appreciated person on my life. MY MUM!!! She borrowed me this amount to pay off the smallest of my debts about 12 years ago. I know it was £421.58 because I've found it scribbled on the back of a big envelope used to store all my default notices/CAB advice sheets etc. and it's kind of been haunting me for a while (12 years).
She said she didn't need it, but I told her it was all work/bonus money and I didn't need it either. She can spend it on whatever she likes but I would prefer it if she threw it all at the electric/gas bill. She sleeps downstairs on the sofa because it's so cold. I told her to leave the central heating on for the next x months so she can stay safe and warm.
So I'm having a good day right now and I Hope everyone is okay too.
Hugs
