Managed to pot £5 today as was too busy at work to go out at lunchtime and buy random coffee etc.
Sue - I think it's not fair that you haven't had a gold star for years after all you do making people welcome on here. Are we allowed to nominate you for one? Or is that too much like creeping to teacher with an apple? :undecide
DreamerHelen - Sorry to hear of your loss. I think just because someone was old (I'm assuming your Grandfather was fairly old - apologies if not) it doesn't make their passing any less sad. In some ways it's worse as you kind of hope/expect they will be around for ever. Lost my last Great Uncle last year (96) and my Dad's eldest brother this year (2 days off 96). I miss them both terribly. Great characters and wonderfully kind sweet men.
My 12 y/o daughter was slightly horrified when I told her we laughed at Uncle Finlay's funeral. It is kind of strange but I'm sure you will laugh too at your Grandfather's funeral as you fondly remember him.
I also find it slightly strange that we manage to find the time to all get together for a family/friend funeral but never seem to have time to all get together at other times.
lucyhope - Both ends of the spectrum for you. The joy of kids at play and seeing how they can have such innocent fun. I love kids' outlook on life. Hope better times are ahead for your Sister-In_law and it all works out OK.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 50 -

A very Good night to you all Super Savers!!
Apart from Scotland (sorry) it's been a gorgeous day for all. Have a good sleep folks and a lovely day tomorrow.
For all those members who have colds, viruses or are just not feeling great at the moment, here are some {{{{hugs}}}} and very best wishes for you to get well/feel better soon! :grinheart
I am very pleased to hear that, Observer, you've really made my day!!
I'm glad it wasn't just me rebubbs, TheDapster, I looked and saw decorations, then replied and at a second glance saw declarations !! I then thought "s*d it, best scrub the first lot" but then saw the funny side of it all and......! :rotfl:Ah well, it's good to know we're two of a kind TD!!!!
You're another Euro closer to being a very happy lady, muppets!!
Hi there Benten, we're all fairly good thank you and you? Well I'm hoping. What a great amount you potted last week! You're well away again!!
Don't knock whatever you're able to save, parksandrec, it's all to your benefit and certainly beats not saving!!
Aha! That's more like the Chutney we know so well, nice work.8p change at the shop. Popped it into my piggy. Oh yes, last year's target is going to get smashed!
Well done Dizzy Imp. Not sure about us smashing it, but....wouldn't it be good to think there's always that possibility. :grinheartKeep the coins coming Dizzy!
Keeping up your pledge to save, save and save as much as is possible then, swimminginaseaofdebt, well done indeed! :j
You're welcome Thora, great plans ahead for you to truly stay motivated for then!! Good for you!If i sat on top of the tree it would collapse :rotfl::rotfl:
Glad i made you laugh:rotfl::rotfl:
Good Heavens above Bubbs, I wondered whatever I'd done to see the whole of my post quoted by you!:eek: If you'd simply highlight and scrap all that isn't relevant in a quoted post so it's clear you're just responding to whatever post you need to......it wouldn't 'arf help. Would that be ok by you?
It did give me a giggle after I realised my mistake with your post, TheDapster too......but then we're so like-minded...or daft maybe??! :rotfl: So you're declining my offer of pride of place then :rotfl:, a bit mean but how about next year then??!! Is that a yes....I'd smoothe down the prickles....[STRIKE]or at last that's what I'd tell you[/STRIKE] honest!! :A
Emptying your purse every day is THE BEST WAY of feeding our pots, hummingbird!! That's providing we're able to shop each day - I'm unable to do so and usually put a large part (I'm lousy with division!) of what's left over from the weekly shop. If anyone struggles as I do then why not do the same?! An excellent find in your latest post btw HB!!
Here are some lovely warm cuddly {{{{{hugs}}}}} just for you, Helen! Make sure you hold onto them for the 24th as they're specifically designed to help you through. On the day remember all the funny things he's said and done, all the lovely words and actions he's said/done as well, that's what our memories are for, especially to help us through such times!
Good saving, and great thoughts of having your temporary pot as a holding pot so it stays safe! Don't forget though Helen, if you've anything at home that you're able to use as a holding pot or as a Sealed Pot then use it and save the money you would otherwise have spent on a new one!! :j
I've no doubt you'll reach your Target, Hicksy, you're a strong lady! Well done on what you've saved so far too!!
Brilliant work mrs-moneypenny! A wonderful amount saved!
Looks like you're planning ahead, indigowarrior, keep it going and you'll do wonderfully!
A very worrying time for you all for certain with your SIL, lucyhope! It's bad enough that she needs brain surgery, but to be hit with Cellulitis beforehand is such a shame! I really hope her Dr can sort that for her so she's able to get on and have the surgery!! Very best wishes to you all but especially her! A good job you have the Grandchildren to focus on and enjoy. It sounds as if you've really got your hands full, but a really wonderful time to enjoy your DGS while he's finding out that there's so much to explore, great things to have fun with too given that he has siblings!! :A
Ah there you are again, Littlefrugalcottage, saving as much as you're able to....and why not!!! Sounds like a good plan with the coffee, you know best. My DH makes a cracking cup of coffee, bless him! :kisses3:
Great potting Antomac!! You certainly know how to save well. So sorry to hear about your Uncles. A sad loss indeed when you remember their wonderful characters. BTW, I always use the word "elderly", a far kinder term (to my mind) regardless of age; apart from which.....I'm never growing old.....just elderly.....when I get there!!
Very kind of you indeed about the stars, I've been given several by our lovely members in the past but, apart from having precious little space on my siggie for them, it didn't seem right being the one who, so say, runs the thread; however I hold them in my heart - honestly! :A So, if you wish to award me one then you know where it will always be held!
Why how sweet of you 32b3, you're just too kind hearted. :A How do you like the plastic £5ers? A super sum saved btw! Is FB ok for you today? It shows up alright if that's any help.tatabubbly wrote: »Hello all - thanks Sue - no idea what 2017 will bring but here's hoping it's going to be good one!

Such good news knowing that the injection's all over for little MJ, tatabubbly, bless him. :A BTW. Just how easy is crochet? I so want to get to grips with it and have practiced so much but just can't seem to get to get on with it? Any tips??! Jakes-Mum is another crocheter and does really well.....just not me!Have a super Monday, SPCers. Keep your pots well fed!!!
