    Xmas Saver!

    Hi everyone

Rest up and recover well AntoMac and don't forget to apply liberal amounts of arnica cream to those bruises. I also highly recommend regular doses of chocolate to ease the shock.

What a lovely idea for your godson, CazzieLT. That's his emergency fund already started! Or money off his student loan. Or the start of his own home fund. Or money towards a travelling gap year. You're giving him endless possibilities - a great gift.
    .
In potting news, I've finally been reunited with my pot. Having a temporary pot was a great plan and its contents has now been fed into the pig.

I also popped round to my brothers place to help with some DIY only to find that he has been following the sealed pot challenge - without knowing it of course. Okay, it wasn't so much of a sealed pot as a couple of open piles / coin dunes, but let's not get picky. Like the wonderful sister I am I offered to count it for him and £160 odd later he told me to add it to the communal savings! Woohoo!

I'm taking the liberty of including it within my sealed pot savings, cause I did all that counting - makes sense to me. But have taken it straight to the bank 'cause it would have filled my pig past bursting point.

Hugs and best wishes to everyone and special thoughts go out to anyone who's sinuses are going barmy with the changing weather.
    Take care

Afternoon, everyone. Hope Thursday is treating you well.

Well done on your nice windfall CazzieLT Sounds like today has been much better for you. Very kind of you to do that for your Godson too.
Fell over today and bruised my shoulder, knee and both hands so feel sorry for myself today and a right clown. At least I can tell my Mum it's not just her!
    Keep potting folks

Thank you, Antomac. I'm sorry to hear of your fall and hope you are recovering well (and not experiencing that annoying habit these things have of hurting more the day after the day after!) You take care of yourself - and your Mum!

Thank you, Miss DM. It's so funny to think of my tiny little dude growing up and having gap years and going to Uni and buying a car and a house! But obviously I want to bring him up totally MSE so I hope he will consider the need for an Emergency Fund! :D

So I'm shopping with Mum today and she gets some change and it's basically a pile of lovely pot money and I'm thinking great, I'll do some swapsies and my pot will be well fed tonight, and then she only goes and decides she's going to start a sealed pot too - WITH THE SAME TYPES OF MONEY! Where will I get my pot money from now!? I'm torn between supporting her potting and encouraging her to join the challenge, and worrying that my pot will be going very hungry! I think we will need to discuss this further and I will try to convince her that her pot should only eat bronze and silver! Wish me luck and hopefully I will return later having got my hands on that change...! xxx

    Evening potterssssssssssssssssssssss

I have no idea why I called you all crafters last time  got crafting on the brain me thinks!

Oh holiday was fabulous Sue, we really enjoyed ourselves despite DD crying the first night on facetime that I had abandoned her, cruelly, with nasty grandad who wouldn't let her paint (because she had already covered the kitchen table with stuff and there was physically nowhere for her to do it, but she omitted to tell us that part ;) ) . . . tears soon stopped when talk turned to presents!

Just had to fork out for DS's college bus pass, so that's £100 out my budget, and that's for a term :(

down to my last £150 to pay for Disney that i'm purposefully putting off so I have as little time as possible to lose the tickets  we're all getting excited now, even himself who never likes to wait for anything so this has been like torture to him! I swear he's more of an impatient kid than the kids are :rotfl:

loving all the potty talk going on, and saving for new arrivals! :D

Potting news today . . . hmm, I def have a £2 coin, and some 50ps and possibly some other random silver coinage. Shrapnel tin is also looking quite healthy so might have enough to change up into silver coins soon :D

I shall now go back to trying to figure out how to finish my cardigan when ive run out of wool 6" from the end, can't add a different colour as the pattern is crocheted left to right not top to bottom  it shall come to me in a flash of brilliance, but until then I shall continue to swear at the tiny bit of thread thats left :rotfl:

Sue you have such a wonderful way of catching up with everyone. You'll be a tough act to follow when you take a well earned back seat on SPC11. I was in your old county at the weekend in the New Forest, in a lovely little place called Tiptoe. Couldn't get mobile reception which was actually a pleasant change.

Lynne I hope you found the Glaswegians friendly. I remember a really friendly bus driver when I was up there. Chatted to us all the way from the Airport to the Railway Station. When we got off the bus my wife asked me what he was saying to us. I had to admit to having absolutely no idea and I'm the son of a Scotsman! :rotfl:

Ah you old flatterer Antomac, I just spout off a load of nonsense, some gets read... To be honest I don't know what'll happen come the end of the SPC year; my DD isn't doing too badly at the moment (I hate saying/writing those words for fear of another MS relapse) and me - I'm the same now as at anytime really, the seizures come and go, so I'll bide time and see how things are later in the year but thanks so much for your kindness.

I'm so sorry to hear the news of your Uncle though if he was suffering then it can only be termed as a blessing, still a sad loss though all the same.

Aha fancy you being at dear old Tiptoe! A lovely village not too far from our dear old Ringwood - as it used to be - not as its become! The powers that be messed about so much with the town and all the locals have never forgiven them for destroying it!! Councils!!!

I just knew what was coming with the friendly Glaswegian bus conductor!! :rotfl: Is it me or do they have a language of their own? Stirling's the same - we asked directions from some firemen - we would have asked them to repeat it but knew we'd be none the wiser!!!! I suggested to DH that we ask someone else "Not bally (his wording was slightly different to mine) likely, we'll get there!" was his retort! Strange how the Highlanders have a totally, much softer dialect.

We don't have such things as cross words on SPC, where's the need for them with such a lovely bunch of folk! BTW, I don't blame you a bit for not taking any note of what you pot Ant, it'll be a wonderful surprise come November! It's lovely chatting to you again. :D

PS. Oh dear Ant....it seems we both took a tumble. DH & I were out walking with our Lab on a rough path by the side of fields, I ducked under a low branch and missed the hollow of the path! Did I ever strain the muscles in my upper right arm, shoulder too - but at least there was no one else around! It's still painful but no great harm done. Same with you from the sounds of it, thankfully. Tell your Mum she most certainly isn't alone!

Sue, beloved Fairy Potmother, what is this about you taking a back seat in SPC 11!? Of course I don't begrudge you a break and you certainly work so hard on here but I will miss your beautiful posts which never miss a single person and make everyone feel so wonderfully welcome and important.

I'm sorry you're having a few cloudy days again, Cazzie, but one of these days the sun will come grinning out from behind them! :D For now you're among friends who, as you rightly know, have caring ears and padded shoulders for you. It became a tight family unit here a long while ago and is wonderful that it still remains that way: SPC is much like a large living room with cozy couches and - large POTS!!! ;)

What an amount you've already amassed, brilliant potting Cazzie! BTW, if in future you're unable to visit family and friends, why not give them a call so you still have the contact as well as a friendly trusting ear!

Re me stepping down, it's mostly due to my health reasons which is epilepsy, also our dear girl has MS and as she and her DH still have 2 dependant kiddies at home she needs mine and hubby's help especially when she relapses! However, thankfully she's (fingers crossed) in remission for now so we'll have to wait and see if the Fairy Potmother :D retires or not. You're doing very well Cazzie, and what a lovely thing to do for your Godson, if he's wise he'll save!

Hi Potters I hope you're all enjoying a good week! :j Though I'd love to know which bright spark it was that said "we could do with some rain??!!!" Once it starts no blighter knows where to find the stop !!!!!
To all those of you unwell or poorly in any way, here's hoping that you're all very much better soon. Here for you are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through xxx :grinheart

Hello Benten and lovely to see dropping by to visit!!! :hello: Good saving btw, but.... I thought your pot was sealed?!!!!

Great saving yet again Chutney, you must be very proud of all you do.

Thank goodness you turned up Miss DM as I'd never have known about the chocolate, a shame I didn't have any at the time, but at least a little will help now! :EasterBunIt's good to hear you and your pot are back together and your other savings properly potted.
YAY!!!! What a fantastic Brother you have, and yes you may indeed include it when declaring your own - whoopee! :T Don't forget to add the amount you've banked on your siggy!

Great going HoneyBee!! It's always lovely when folk drop in to say how they're doing. If you've got quite a bit saved then why not bank it and add the amount on your siggy so you won't forget.

Surely you've got the days wrong, 32b3???! The weekend can't possibly start on a Wednesday!!!! Sounds like it has though and I'm chuffed to bits for you!!!! :j Great savings too of course!

More potting again for you also, siju!!! You have a lovely weekend too, it should at least be a dry one!

I'm really that all the delays didn't mess up your holiday, jakes-mum, it's always wonderful to hear folk have an amazing time! :j Your DD is getting as crafty as her Mum I'm sure, still it worked!! So you're all getting super excited as you await America and Disneyworld!!!!! You'll have a ball out there - but are they ready for you.....? They don't know what they're in for!!! :rotfl: They'll be glad of a long lie down after you've gone!!!

It's strange with students bus prices, one of our Grandsons had a free pass, the eldest it cost a fortune for...and both in the same county!!

    Good luck with the cardi.
BTW, I hadn't an inkling you referred to us as crafters!

Have a lovely evening and a great Friday, SPCers. :j Keep filling those pots!!! :D

    Sue xx

Evening, potters! How are we all doing?

I'm pleased to report I've had a better few days and now here we are on the first day of the second half of the year (!?) and I've vowed to make this half considerably better than the first half, which in my case shouldn't be too difficult! I wish you all happy and healthy second halves of the year. And of course lots of wonderful potting is occurring everywhere. I've potted about £16 in the last few days and am still hoping to get my hands on those shiny new £1 coins the Mothership was considering starting a pot for...! I'm also going to aim to pop £1 into my LISA each day of July so I don't have to part with quite as many Premium Bonds come the end of the tax year to max my allowance! #SaveThePremiumBonds! Talking of which, COME ON ERNIE for the 1st of the month! Does anyone else share my Premium Bond obsession!?

Well done to everyone who is potting away, I can't believe pot opening day is just four months from tomorrow! I hope you are all making your way towards your targets but whatever you've managed to save, I'm sure it will make a real difference when you get to open it and count it and bank it or spend it! I was always told that if you look after the pennies then the pounds will take care of themselves, so go us for doing just that!

Hope you are all having lovely weekends and keeeeeeeeep potting! I'm off to continue my mission of eating as much as I possibly can before I return to fat club on Thursday...! :D xxx
