    Happy Monday Potters

Well I must say the weather is trying to get me down after a good soaking walking the dog this morning but after a peaceful and simple weekend, I'm not going to let it get to me! We had my FIL staying over the weekend and a lovely Sunday lunch with my DD and SIL. There's so much unhappiness in the news at the moment that I think it's important to enjoy simple pleasures as much as possible.

My little pot will be fed today with a total of £4.53.
    SPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.83

Afternoon, everyone! Hope you're all enjoying sunny, happy days :)

MrsShazbat, it sounds like you are thinking just like me, I am making a big effort to make money out of anything at the moment - I find myself walking around my house looking for anything I might be able to sell! I've been doing a lot of comping to try and win things to sell but seem to be going through a bit of a dry spell win-wise. But at least you have your lovely holiday to look forward to!

You're so right, siju, and it's those simple pleasures which are often the best. I must say, I really did enjoy the concert last night and thought it was just what we all needed, and I woke up this morning a little more empowered than I might have without it. Being a part of the SPC family brings me a lot of pleasure so I hope you all know how much I enjoy hanging out with all of you :) And saving money too - now there is a definite win!

Mum had been saving up her fivers, £2s and new £1s for me (I have her well-trained!) so I just painstakingly counted out £20 from the shrapnel tins and happily exchanged it for pot money! Because money in general is a little tight at the moment being on half pay, I am keeping fivers in an accessible tin just in case they are needed for anything, but if I get to the end of the month and find things are actually not too bad, then they will get potted along with the coins. But a whole ten shiny new £1 coins are now making their acquaintance with all the other coins and notes in the pot - I could swear some nights I hear them giggling in there! :D

Keep potting and keep smiling and keep loving and keep being your wonderful potty selves :) xxx

    Evening Potterssssssssssssssssss

Well its been blowing a gale round these parts today and anyone who mentions drought to me will be getting a clip round the ear as i've watched niagara falls tumble from the sky today

Am happy to report that the rainbow C2C blanket is now finished and just needs a good iron and have now started my very first crocheted item of clothing  My mother is obsessed with those cardigans that look like shawls but have arms (my explaining skills are on fire today :rotfl: ) and she wears this one shes had since what feels like the beginning of time that looks quite the worse for wear but she will NOT get herself a new one, so i'm making her one in a lovely Aran wool. This is actually just me having a trial run as ive seen an awesome cardigan pattern which has a couple of new stitches in it that i'd like to make her for christmas but im a bit chicken to jump straight in so thought this would be a '2 birds' kind of make :D Hopefully it will fit and she'll like it (maybe she won't  ) its a one size fits all design so the iron can stretch it if needed :rotfl: (she's very short, so shuld be fine :rotfl:)

Potting news! . . I have none :( no pennies at all for my pot :( BUT I did somehow accidently book me and the grumpy one a week in majorca :rotfl: no idea how it happened, just perusing the flights online and my bank card just jumped right out of my purse and entered its details

  • I've made a start at potting!! ... collected up all the coins which have been hiding in various dishes and other hiding places around the house ... a grand total of £4.36! Not a huge amount .. but it's a start at least! It seems a long way to go towards my target of £200 but I guess I have to start somewhere! Am hoping to do a car boot sale this weekend (weather permitting) so perhaps will be able to boost my potting come Monday! And I usually make a little bit of money from the weekend laundry ... there's always a few forgotten coins hanging around in pockets!

I think I will soon become slightly obsessed with this potting business .... :-)

    Evening, potters!

Oh jakes-mum, you do make me giggle! I was going to sellotape my bank cards into my purse for fear that they might do naughty things just like yours - then I realised I was kidding myself as I have a ridiculous memory for numbers and know them all off by heart! But you deserve a treat, and maybe the grumpy one will even be able to raise a smile! :D

Ummmm... I think you're already there, admiral_traveller!!! But you can't fight the pot obsession, you've just got to embrace it, sit back and relax as you surge towards your target! If you carry on like that, you'll hit that £200 target in no time, and then some!

Nowt for Cazzie's pot today or yesterday, but mini yay as this is because I haven't spent anything. I do need to visit the shops tomorrow to get some trousers for my charity walk this weekend (I only own jeans and smart black trousers - need something sporty to help me convince myself that I am a person who can walk 20 miles!) I don't plan to part with much money for these, but I do intend to get my hands on some pot-able change from my purchase!

Hope all you little potters are looking after yourselves, hope the sun is shining in your worlds (both indoors and out), and sending continued squishy hugs to anybody in need of them.

    Keeeeeeeep potting! :D xxx

    Yo yo, potty ones!

Nowt to report for the pot today (sadly the trousers came in at £19.99, so all I had left was a penny for the shrapnel tin), BUT I did boost the Flat Deposit Fund by one whole British pound opening a Lifetime ISA as per The Wise One's recommendations! So came on to update my signature accordingly!

Have to buy a few small bits tomorrow so hoping for some pot-able change then. Hope you're all doing better than I am! Come forth and bring me stories of potting success! :) xxx

  • Hi everyone
Am temporarily separated from my pot, so have found a small box to use as my temporary pot. I just couldn't cope with all those little coins in my purse. Am not counting, just temp potting. Should be reunite with my real pot in a couple of weeks and will have a quick count then.

Wishing you all a great weekend

Oh he is smiling away Cazzie, his smiles always unnerve me as it means it has already, or will in the future . . cost me a lot of money :rotfl:

Was rudely awakened by the mother at some god awful hour this morning! I couldn't tell you the exact time but it looked very much like an 8 at the beginning! Scrounging a lift to work, I dutifully dragged my backside out of bed and went and picked her up with minimal grumping at the earliness of the hour :A

In potting news, I have no idea as my purse is in the kitchen and im to exhausted now with all the early morning goings on to go get it . . did find 3p roadkill when I was out on thursday which is now in the coppers tin.
