If we had a referendum with 72% turnout which resulted in 52% of the votes in favour of making being !!!!!exual illegal again, do you think parliament should go with the will of the people?

EDIT: For some reason the word h-0-m-0-sexual is banned. I guess we know which way mse would vote.

Well that's slightly different and your post a far bit over on the hysterical side.

    hysterical
    hɪˈstɛrɪk(ə)l/Submit
    adjective
    1.
affected by or deriving from wildly uncontrolled emotion.

But back to my question, would you respect the will of the people?

The reason why parliamentary democracy is the best system to date is to guard against this kind of collective emotional stupidity by the masses.

This is precisely the reason why some countries constitutions don't even allow referendums. If you want some thing done then vote the people in who would support that cause.

The issue of whether or not Article 50 was revocable is key, the Government have argued in court that it's not (for political reasons)
Their case would be strengthened if they were to change their position on this and so may well do so when the Supreme court hear it.

Quite, and this is in the judgement as I pointed out in the other thread.

This decision is based on the notion that article 50 is reversible, so I think an appeal could will be won by the government.

I seriously doubt the mental equilibrium of people who called a referendum on Brexit without even knowing how A50 would be legally trigerred and by whom.

By the time this whole pallawa is over we would NEED to stay in Europe. You know why? Because if £4=1Euro then all of us would be emigrating to Poland to get on the "gravy train".

    Collusion.

The lawyers and liberal luvvies are colluding to keep us in, or for a soft Brexit.

Can you imagine if members of the public had tried to stop Major or Blair giving away sovereign power at Maastricht of Lisbon? The lawyers, very happy with the direction of travel would have never have dismissed the challenge out of hand.

Next time we get a Labour Govt I might try my chances at the High Court if I don't like the people's verdict

This will now end up in parliament - high court was definitive and appeal unlikely to succeed

Parliament won't block brexit - but they'll scrutinise, slow down, and supervise Brexit and put clear limits in place to the range of outcomes parliament will accept - so a chaotic, destructive, hard brexit now looks much less likely.

Destructive, lol, trading with Europe like the Americans do. I use several American services and quite a lot of thier products, no problem. Trust the hystericals to want to run to the hills in ignorance.

In any event the EU won't harm thier own trade, it's the last thing they can afford, so trade between us won't be affected if we regain our sovereignty

The whole remainer position is pure fear of change and ignorance
