Credit file balance differs to DCA

Hi

I have a balance outstanding relating to a bt account which I disputed with them and lost.
The account got passed to Lowell/ credit resolve a while back and I offered £5 per month out of spite.

My clear score and noddle both showed a balance remaining of £20 in October and I paid £20 to clear it.
They are now saying there is a balance of £63.20.
As my file is updated by them each month surely what balance is showing on my credit report must be correct?
Thanks in advance

    Are 'they' the DCA?

If so then you need to ask them for a statement/breakdown of all payments & charges. That will give you the true figure.

CRAs rely on the information they are provided but timing can sometimes mean it's out of sync with actual figures.

    Thanks for the reply.
Surely as I pay £5 per month the figures can't be too far out?

It is prob between 1 - 2 month difference as by the time they send the info and it's added and your monthly report is produced.

If you are in doubt of what is/was paid, the DCA have to give you a breakdown of it.
