Sounds like a very productive day for you hun
Your list will go down, it just takes time.

I've finished everything scheduled for today. One job took quite a bit longer than expected, but I kept plugging away until it was done. I can be fairly stubborn when it suits.
I'm tired now but still have some things to do on the computer so will have a cup of tea and get back to it.
It feels quite nice to have done a decent days work here at home, and being able to cross of another major job is brilliant! :j0 -
You're doing brilliantly! :T Something I've found helpful in the past with reeeeeeally long lists is to set a timescale after which I'll re-write them. In theory that means they get shorter - but that depends on how much other stuff has got added on in the meantime!
It does save things getting lost in the middle of all the crossings-out, though!

MMT you seem to be doing so well! Sorry I haven't caught up with you for a while. Seems the days are running away with me. All this talk of lists is making me want to go away and write some more of my own! I've tried all sorts of ways to keep lists - on the computer, on my phone, in a diary - but nothing beats a plain old handwritten list. I love being able to cross stuff off and have even been known to add a few bits I've already done....just so I can cross them off! xxLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

I've just now finished putting the last ads on facebook, gumtree and preloved. It wasn't difficult but slow going and it just seemed to drag on and on. I refused to quit until everything was uploaded, so am feeling good about it.
I will re-write the lists EssexH, that's a good idea, it will keep them neater and will be easier to see the things that still need to be done. I've never been a huge list person Smolly until last spring when I was wandering around Aldis knowing I needed things but had no idea what they were. I came home with everything but the items I really needed. I started making lists for everything, worrying a bit that my memory was going. I decided it wasn't, and I let it lapse a bit but getting out my filofax has brought the lists back with a vengeance. Now that I am actually crossing things off and getting big jobs completed, I can see it's working pretty well!
I'm worn out now, so will be going to bed with a book. hope everyone has a nice evening xx0 -
I've stalled a bit today. I had a big job scheduled today but woke up feeling achy and tired. Hub and I went out for a little stroll around the market in the winter sunshine but now that I'm back, all I want to do is curl up on the sofa and sleep. I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day and tomorrow, then start again on Monday.
There is good news, two items that I listed last night on a local selling site have already been collected. I was so pleased, often it seems people either don't turn up when they say they will or offer about 10% of the asking price, even if it says no offers. Nothing like that this time, both buyers were polite and handed over the full amount. They were both large items - a very ugly modern sideboard and 4 boxes filled with heavy old books, so having them out of the house has freed up a lot of space. The money in my purse isn't bad, either. I will have to put it straight in the savings account on monday, so I won't be tempted to spend it.0 -
Good idea to take a break if you are feeling below par.
Treat it as your job (work at home, not from home), have the weekend off with your OH and then start up again on Monday, Child(ren) to school and dog walk and then get stuck straight in when you get back, this seems to have been working well for you.:D
Cold and bright here today, after a wet cold one yesterday. OH been doing sterling service outside, pruning shrubs and trees. On our shared boundary are some big triffid trees (Ash & Magnolia) owned by next door, we have his permission to keep the blighters in check, and even fill up his green wheelie bin whenever we need, it is such a hassle disposing of it all otherwise, so he gets a gold star for helpfulness, even if his side is a near wilderness:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Great news Misty on the sales - those sound like big items too to get out of the way!
Don't worry about wanting to curl up and give things a miss today - it is the weekend after all and you sound like you've already achieved loads already this week! Enjoy the rest of it and relax! xxLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

Time to get back to work after taking the weekend off. It didn't really feel like I got much rest but I couldn't face doing more than I did.
Today it's chucking it down. I need to go out at some point to do some errands, which will involve about 2-3 miles of walking. I don't normally mind but it is seriously wet out there. I have some waterproof boots so will just have to get out and be a bit more grateful that I have a decent coat and a warm and dry house to come back to.
I need to re-write my schedule of works, taking the weekend off has put paid to my timescale. I still have a monster headache so not sure how much I will get done today aside from the errands, but I will make an effort to get some of the jobs done, even if they are only small.
I hope everyone is staying dry today! x0
