Had a misshap last night. Went to an organised bonfire and got burnt on my neck by a piece of ash that landed on me. Is so sore though I've put Savlon on and it's calmed it. It's a real eyesore though.

i hope that you are feeling better and that your feeling ok. it might be worthwhile getting the burn checked out and get some paraffin based dressings. sometimes it can be a right pain for it to heal and the right dressing can help a great deal- what with your skin on you neck being so delicate.

i hope you feel ok and that it sounds worse than it is. you may have less discomfort if you keep any shedding woolens- scarves and the like, away from the burn if it is uncovered. as the flicks of wool or similar fibers will irrate you.

    Some UUS!
bath and body works country apple shower gel:wnba smelled medicinal, made my eczema flare and ended up using it as shampoo.
loccitane almond hand cream: wdba! I really liked this and the scent is great.
Pacifica island vanilla hand cream: wnba, smelled a little weird and not as moisturizing... used it on my feet by the end
trying to be good as its my birthday this month and Christmas is around the corner!! did recently buy a trio of body shop hand creams to try though.

VALM - neat lavender oil is amazing for burns, it may make it feel quite hot for a moment but it heals super quick and without scarring.

    I have some uu's

Body Shop Blue Corn 3 in 1 Mask 100ml - WBA, I find this very brightening.

Clinique Airbrush Concealer - this is lovely but quite pricey and you don't get a lot of product either. I need to find a cheaper alternative.

  • INs only toothpaste and mouthwash which I buy in bulk when it's on offer, but I class these as essential. If push came to shove I could not buy brands and save money, but happy with oral b pro toothpaste and corsodyl daily at present.

TA green concealer which I have had donkeys years, and clearly never use as it has split. WNBA!

  • I have a UU
Tresemme conditioner WMBA but bottle design annoys me
  • Few more (slightly boring) UU's:

    5. Colgate Plax Mouthwash Mini WMB -This was in a BA First Class bag (given to me by a friend)

    6. Sainsburys Basics Handwash WBA - Not sure how I discovered this in the first place, but it has such a lovely smell and I decant it into a pretty soap dispenser so you would never know it's so cheap! Last handwash in my stash so will decant an unloved shower gel into the dispenser until I pick up some more.

    7. Superdrug Cotton Pads WBA - I've totally run out of cotton pads now so will need to buy some more.

Just painted my nails with the Nails Inc Lexington Street polish I got as a freebie last week.

My skin and hair feel quite dry at the mo, which I think is to do with the change in weather. I was tempted to go out and buy some bits but raided my stash for a face mask, moisturiser, lip balm etc.

Your poor thing that sounds nasty!!
Keep an eye on it as it heals, hopefully it will pretty quickly but I had a burn once that went a little bit nasty as they can be quite deep wounds.

Thanks Houseplant. I have been to Boots at lunch time and had the Pharmacist take a look. She says it looks good already as there's plenty of red new skin around it.

Thanks SFT. The Pharmacist said to keep it open however I did wear a silk scarf earlier because I felt so conscious of it. The heating at work is ridiculous though - feels like a care home! - and the scarf has come off.

  • AT LAST...

    some UU's

L'oreal Nutribronze 12 hour moistriser for face with light tan - Tiny bottle lasted all over summer, did the job, would probably not buy again though as I am trying to move away from big brands without a cruelty free policy. I have others still stashed to use.

Garnier wrinkle lift A under eye cream - Ok, but have others to use up.

MissBeautyUK liquid concealer - bought on a whim from poundworld while traveling and realized I forgot my concealer. Really happy with this one, cheap as chips, good standby to have in handbag.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

Thanks dolly84. As well as Boots I went to Holland & Barrett and picked up 2 x 10ml bottles on the Penny Sale. Have applied some already and smell lovely (I do actually love lavender). Who knows, I might even be a calmer person this afternoon. Have left a bottle in the loo here and can have the other one at home.

The Pharmacist also recommended lavender oil and also Sudocrem but I didn't want to buy that as I don't know what else I'd use it for once my burn had healed. See, trying to be MSE all the way. Am going to put some of the lavender oil on my pillow too.

I echo this. These bottles are so annoying!
