Laura I'm not sure if that's supposed to be aimed at men primarily? I spend probably £0 per month on shaving my legs etc, more like £3 every 6 months! That gets me a load of disposable blades and I use them till they wear out." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Husky - no reason why you can't use a "ladies" razor! My OH uses them all the time!!
Bob - I think my skin on my leggies must be sensitive or, (most likely) I am totally special - if I buy cheap razors I ALWAYS cut myself and end up with angry red stubbly legs! And my underarms get really sore - must just be me!!
So, this weekend has been pretty up and down - yesterday I got my hair done (was happy), did the food shop (£40 for the week - very happy) and then went to see my sister - so far so good. Then the pain in my sides got a little worse, we had a Chinese (first time in aggeesss £15) and then my sides got worse and worse.
So called 111, long story short, I was up all night and have no real answers. I saw an out of hours dr this morning, and I have different antibiotics for if I start to feel worse.
Uuuggghhhh - so frustrating, but feeling alright as we speak, so I am sure that it will all be fine
So, I have £42.50 spending money for this week but got all of our food, so just need to pay for dancing on Wednesday and any other activities. I want to try and keep any money left over from my weekly budget and split it between loan overpayments and Christmas presents.
Anyway, I am snuggled up on the sofa with the cat and the fire on - feeling snuggly and happy not to be doing anything today. Oh, and a pork shoulder in the slow cooker (with some honey, chilli and soy sauce - TASTY!).
This week we have;
- Chilli con carne
- Sausage casserole
- Thai green curry
- Pulled pork
- Leftover pork stir fry
Got some carrots too - going to make some carrot and coriander soup today if I can get the energy up!
How's everyone's Sunday Funday going?
Does anyone else bank with Lloyds - if so, you are probably aware but I will tell you anyway - you can "save the change" on purchases (they round up to the nearest £1 and add it to your savings account). So far, in about 2 months, I have saved £11.51 - so that is some extra pennies for Christmas next year!
I can't believe payday was only 5 days ago - does anyone else just feel deflated a few days after payday when all the money has gone to it's allocated place? I need to send myself my spreadsheet from work so that I can check off my budgeted spends to make me feel like I am making progress!!!
Keep reminding myself - this month, I have paid the photographer (£250) and paid off BOTH overdrafts (total £700) so that is where all my money has gone!
Fingers crossed for a bonus next month - I will probably be able to get rid of one of my credit cards and pay a good chunk off of the other. I am pretty sure that if I get paid my bonus for the next couple of months, I could be debt free by February!!!!
Love to all xxx0 -

Laura Yum to your weekly menu plan. We had pork tonight too. Really sorry to hear about your side pain, sounds scary." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Husky - haha, I can imagine!
Bob - ahh, I will be FIIINNEE I am sure, another day in bed for me today, need to try and see the DR (lol at phoning up at 8am on a Monday morning, as if I will get through).
So yesterday was a NSD - had some TASTY pulled pork for dinner and now I have a MASSIVE tub of it in the fridge for tonight (and maybe a little sandwich for little old me at lunch) - so 2 dinners for 3 people and probably lunch for three today as well for under £4 - that isn't too bad in my book at all!
I have some carrots in the fridge that are destined for some soup and today, I am sure that I am going to at least decide which dresses to sell on ebay and take pics of them - then I can list them and see how much I can get for some extra Christmas pennies
So I have £42.50 left to last me out until the end of the week - I have done a food shop so I am hoping to be able to get some Christmas presents out of that and anything left will go onto the credit card.
Speaking of Christmas presents, I should get my fabric today that I ordered last week - so I can start working on my little bags that for my best girls. I am going to make them so that they are envelope shaped and tie with pretty ribbon! Been looking into how I can fill them and so far I have (saved in my amazon basket for when I have spare pennies);
- cute socks (who doesn't love a cute pair of socks!?)
- bath bombs
- fancy lip balm
I am going to keep my eyes peeled for any other bargains that I can get for them as well. Might do some research into patterns for make up bags.
Enough of my barely coherent rambling! I hope you all have a brilliant Money-Saving-Monday - Will probably check in again later AS I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO.
Love xxx0 -
Hi all!
Done some more Christmas shopping research - WILKO do really cheap bath bombs- UM SOLD.
So I need to pop down there are pick some bits up for my girlfriends, very happy with this discovery.
Although the fabric that I ordered hasn't arrived from Ebay, the company did phone me to let me know that they have sent it and if they don't arrive they will resend.
Yesterday was a NSD, today should be one as well - woo hoo!
Went back to work today, skipped lunch and finished at 3, so been able to chill out a bit this afternoon - just so tired!
Looking at what I will do with my bonus if I get paid it in December (I think I am looking at about £900) - I will pay off my barclaycard and extra couple of hundred on my Halifax card!! Oh and a cheeky extra £100 for Christmas!
Need to get saving too, hoping I will have some money left in my account to move to savings at the end of the month (15th December).
Excited for my staff party on Friday - fingers crossed that me and the OH will win the amazing holiday hahaha - pretty unlikely
How's everyone's Tuesday Frug-day?

I really hope you win!!
My cheapskate Tuesday has been good. NSD 13! Unlucky for some" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

NSD 13?! How on earth have you managed that Bob?!
Today, I also had a NSD - quite an unpleasant scan at the hospital, but there is nothing wrong with my kidneys or ovarieswoo hoo!!
Currently got a chilli on the stove - replaced half the meat with lentils, not going to tell the boys, let's see if they notice!! The pan is full up, so definitely leftovers for lunch tomorrow
Checked off my bank accounts today at work - so far, so good. Really hoping that I get another bonus next month, I can pay off one of my credit cards and a big chunk of the other!! It's looking good people!
I have got a head start on January's pay - November is going well, and I am feeling pretty confident, if I get that, I can pay off my other credit card and only have my loan left!!!
How's everyone's no-spendsday-Wednesday?
xxx0 -
I'm liking the 'no-spendsday-Wednesday' - I just managed one myself
(15th NSD this month!! :A )
Sorry to hear your scan wasn't pleasant but always good to hear good results!
The replacing half the mince with lentils trick is a good'un - much healthier as well. Nobody has ever complained when I've done it (but I'm not sure I've tricked them either).
Your debt-busting is going at a phenomenal pace! It'd be such a boost to get rid of all of them bar the loan before Christmas, but even without the bonus it'll be gone before long!House fund: ~£5000 / £10,000_£1000 emergency fund #208 - £151.74/ 1000 _

ab_saver - great work on 15 NSDs!! Amazing!!
Well, the boys noticed but decided it was the "best chilli ever" so that is definitely going to be my new recipe (added onions, three peppers, stock cubes, chilli, tinned chopped tomatoes, 1 anchovy, paprika).
Oh man, the idea of being able to pay so much of them off before the end of 2017 it would be incredible. It's always my new years resolution, since I started uni and got an overdraft - well NOW it is happening. This is the first year that I have finished the year with less debt that I started - at one point it was at £5k (several years ago).
I am just want to be able to pay off the wedding as well
