Sorry if you don't want to hear this but yes, people do change and it sounds to me that she is at very least in the process of detaching herself from you. Practically and emotionally - and is getting ready to move her life-on in another direction.
So rather than try to discover her "problem," maybe you would be better advised to do some detaching of your own so you are ready and supported if the worst happens for when she wants to take-off altogether, that's if she doesn't already have someone else/a new life in her sights but IME, you will probably be the very last person to find that-out

She's almost certainly banging the postman.
In all seriousness, you're talking about two or three weeks; you're most likely over-analysing things. Just chill out for a while.0 -
I would ask her what his name is.0

If, as you say, she is supporting a friend through a difficult time, maybe it has made her re-evaluate her own level of contentment or otherwise.
Perhaps her friend symbolises the start of a newly rediscovered freedom, unencumbered by dependency on or responsibility for another, and she is envious of the possibilities her friend now has.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Anybody else amazed at OPs age? I was expecting 60YO at least.
I think OPs wife has realised he's a bit of a drip, and she wants a bit of excitement.0 -

Give it time
Wow - Just googled bpd traits. Pretty much every single one either applies now or has applied in the past.
Forgive me because I don't know much about this sort of thing, however I thought that with BPD changes would be more often - we've been together 6 years and nothing this extreme has happened before.
Thanks all0
