Well done for cycling despite the weather. It was quite a bright day here but got dark very quickly come late afternoon. Only a few weeks to the shortest day and then it will get lighter again.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

girlatplay said:You've already paid over the minimum this month so you shouldn't get a late payment marker. Maybe statement balance is just a general option which you get whether there is a balance due or not. I've never liked Antanddec. (I do, however, like the two cheeky Geordie chappies!)
SH in contrast to yesterday today is glorious - blue skies and sun again! And I will be cycling back to the car in daylight too as I move it closer to the office at lunchtime on a thursday for a quicker getaway.
Reminder to all for the 2 minute silence at 11am. Just reminded Mr Boss about it and we'll be observing in the office, as usual. (He wouldn't remember if I didn't say anything, but as soon as I do he's always all over the idea, which is great!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Haha yep RT - It was pretty much like that round here too - just grim! It was foggy on the way into London this morning but had pretty much cleared by the time we parked up.
Update:
Prolific: £6.47 paid/£2.68 pending - not such a good week this week but not surprising after the run I've had lately!
OnePoll: 230 points
NSD's: 7/18
Overnight electric: £1.17 (WM, 2 x storage heaters, water from pretty much cold)
Manual Payment to the 0% card last night - balance now £213.92 - I need that £25 from OnePoll to hurry up so I can get sub-£200! Already beaten my months target so happy with that, regardless.
Just a short period of time tidying and dusting in the bedroom last night left it feeling far more pleasant - I also decided on "path of least resistance" with some stuff I'd been waiting for MrEH to put away where it belonged - opened the door of the relevant cupboard, shoved everything in on top of his other stuff - closed door again. It won't be at all convenient for him next time he needs to go in there but had he put it away himself that wouldn't have been an issue, so there you go!Anyway that was my "One Thing" for yesterday. Need to give some thought to today's - although it might be another 15 minutes while dinner is cooking just getting things back to their proper places and sorting out rubbish, perhaps. If I remember to not take my shoes off as soon as I go in I can even take the rubbish to the bins this evening as well. All jobs that won't need doing tomorrow!
Need to give some thought to the washing machine - it's always had a tendency to over-run on all its programmes - I think most do to be fair - but last night's 20 degree standard wash must have gone over by a good hour - to the extent that it ran into the peak rate electricity. we need to make a decision between just setting it to go earlier, and accepting that a 2.5 hour programme will in fact be nearer to 3.5, or start using the shortened cycle a bit more - I'm unconvinced about either which will be cheapest OR best for the clothes!
Today should be a NSD I think - and I should also be able to make a start on sorting out the CC statement. As we now seem to be down to once a week post (thanks Royal Fail!) I won't be waiting for the statement to arrive that's for sure.
Meal plan for next week is done, and the shopping list likewise - we'll probably shop on Saturday morning I think. Also want a bit of a trawl of the charity shops - MrEH needs some trousers and I could do with keeping an eye out for a few odds and ends too.

Agreed Beanie - too long IMO. I know the shortened programmes are reckoned to be less good for the clothes, but I'm not convinced they will be enjoying being in the machine for 3.5 hours even if it IS being more gentle while they're there!
!!!!!! - checked my most recent Utility warehouse statement and they are STILL being a shower of brown smelly stuff. No reading shown in spite of being submitted, and the charges are just for the standing charge. Also - and far more worrying - no sign whatsoever of the additional £70.70 we paid across when we got the credit back from Bulb - that has just disappeared without trace. I'm really unimpressed so far - not being able to view your account balance online is bad enough - but them losing payments that have been sent following their process for doing so to the letter is a real problem, as we are expecting to have to make top-up payments this winter. I guess that's going to need another phone call tomorrow, then.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EH - I'm also unconvinced that my ECO cycle which takes 3.5 hrs is better for the either my cloths or the planet than the 1hr mixed fabrics cycle. We rarely have heavily soiled cloths - sometimes jeans & socks if we've been for a (now rare) hike. Mostly I save the long warm water cycle for sheets & towels and use the short cycle for everything else. The shortest cycle also means 2 extra hours of drying time out in the fresh air which reduces the time needed in the drying pod.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I do most stuff on a 30c quick wash. If I want it to be really quick I do a 15 minute one. If I need a long wash I stick it on delay which gives me a ‘finish in’ time which is pretty accurate, but varies a little depending on the weight/grubbiness of the load.3

I have never heard of washing machines going over their cycle before... Although my brother's got so hot it was steaming half an hour later and ruined his clothes.

EH~~Not sure why you are with UW.
My best advice is to get away from them as soon as.
