Thanks for popping in SG - yes, that was exactly our thinking about any excess, but at least it will be there if (I suspect when) needed.
I went really thin on the ground with PA for a while and then remembered I needed to check the personal info stuff - lots of out of dates ones/new questions to be answered and since then it's improved massively!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Glad you've found some useful ideas - I think reading other peoples diaries can be great for making us think of stuff that wouldn't have occurred to us!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think reading others diaries - can also help us remember what we used to do to save £ but had somehow stopped - and now need to restart.
My useful thing was buying solar lights with motion sensors to make me feel safer at home without needing an electrician to help. At £28 for 4 I was pretty happy. They came today - so next task is to install but I reckon I can nail 2 onto different sides of my shed - and one to a fence - so it's only the one I want near the front door that is likely to be more complicated.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That really IS a useful thing SH - and you talking about that has reminded me that I wanted to look for something similar to fit in our big cupboard - so thank you!
My "Making life more pleasant" thing last night was a couple of the Yoga with Adriene practises - back to back. I'm working my way through her 30 day challenges - this is the 2015 one which I think might have been her first - either way it's before she really got the knack of describing the moves clearly so you don't need to be focused on the screen, and as a result I'm finding it harder than the others I have done. I think it's the first one I tried, years ago, and gave up for that exact reason. Days 4 & 5 were done last night anyway.
Prolific: £6.47 paid/£1.05 pending
OnePoll: 175
YouGov: got a survey this morning, 50 pts plus an additional 10 for a follow up,. Still miles away though!
NSD's: 6/18 - a third of the way to the target!
Overnight electric: £1.06 - 2 x heaters, water.
Still waiting on being able to see the UW bill. Sigh. Still bewildered by it appearing to show a figure of exactly £70 too - this is the amount we pay, but surely shouldn't be showing as the bill amount?!
It would appear that Santander have decided to not bother taking my fixed monthly amount DD for the 0% card this month because I've made other payments to it. I can see that if it was a minimum payment one this would be logical - but it's not, so it's rather frustrating that in spite of having the DD set up, I still need to make the payment myself. We'll also need to keen an eye on the other one - MrEH's one - to make sure that when additional payments are made there the same thing doesn't happen.
A decent looking Broadband offer on the MSE weekly email this morning too - I'm just trying to establish how the claim for the voucher comes about as that's not clear from Vodaphone's website. It would be £1 cheaper than the best deal Shell can offer for a faster speed than we get currently though, plus the possibility of a TCB payout, plus that £130 voucher which is the best part of a month's T's shopping for us - so definitely worth going for. I've forwarded it to MrEH to take a look at and see what he thinks.
Tea tonight will be fennel & squash risotto - amazingly there will STILL be a chunk of the enormous squash to use up after that too - it's done well! I reckon the fennel bulb is large enough that I won't need all of it tonight, too - I'll throw any balance in a pan of veggies to roast to go with lamb chops tomorrow.
Today's tasks will be:
- Complete next week's meal plan
- 15 minute tidy around the bedroom - both of us
- Set up a load of washing to go through overnight.
- Keep an eye on Prolific/OnePoll

My minimum payments come out every month even though I pay the full balance through a card payment both with Santander…..if this is your first payment I’d chase it up 👍January spends - £587.583

That's always the way I'd seen it happen with other providers Milann - hence I was surprised, This isn't the first payment to it but it IS the first time I've made payments during the month for a higher amount than the DD is set at.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well once the divorce goes through the aisle no reason why you wouldn’t be able to!Manual monthly payment to the 0% card now made - when I looked at the options it even gave me “statement balance “ as one of them so clearly it was still showing as needing paid - I’d best to get a late payment marker as a result of this, I’ll hit the roof if I do.It’s been a proper grey dreary day down here today - I got damp cycling from the car to the office and then got damp going in the other direction this evening too. Hopefully tomorrow will be brighter - it barely felt like it got light today.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You've already paid over the minimum this month so you shouldn't get a late payment marker. Maybe statement balance is just a general option which you get whether there is a balance due or not. I've never liked Antanddec. (I do, however, like the two cheeky Geordie chappies!)Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
