I wandered over from Cheery's diary last night while I had insomnia, and having caught up on about a year and a half, I'm both awed and terrified. Would you like to run my life for me please?6

Just been having a read through your diary. You seem to be doing great.
Don't envy you running storage heaters though with the price of electricity right now ☹3 -

I always cash out when I get to the £5 mark as I'd be gutted if it all crashed and I didn't get the cash. I'm waiting for £1.09 to be approved then I'll have £6 odds to cash out. The max I've ever cashed out at was just over £7.
You are extremely focused and I find it admirable.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Oh you lot….LOVELY to have visitors, Thank you all, especially those who’ve read the lot…I mean I *could* suggest you get a hobby, but… 😆
Beanie Coming from a lady who defines “amazing” I will take that, thank you lovely! 😘
Greenbee - shhh…don’t tell anyone but it’s like a swan - all calm and organised on the surface but paddling frantically underneath! 🤣
SH the pizza was nomlicious, much as I love a home made one it does taste wonderful for just turning up at the door!Relieved Ahh yes, the storage heaters - I’m not sure I envy us much either! The issue with central heating here though is that unless we wanted almost all pipe work running visibly (we don’t) it would require the entire building being full of concrete dust as they channelled into the solid concrete walls, floors and ceilings to bury the works. I’m blanching slightly at even the thought of it. NSH’s aren’t actually as bad as everyone says either so long as you deep dive into the workings of them - we have 18 years of history together now and have reached a reluctant understanding where I “helicopter parent” them and they produce a reasonable level of heat in return…I suspect we don’t pay a vast amount more than anyone with CH pays overall. (Probably won’t try too hard to investigate that one though! )GAP You have hit on my exact dilemma - I always think “what if” but at the moment seem to be hitting that £20 mark in just over a week which is a short enough timescale that I’m willing to take the risk. I will curse if it all goes to hell in a handcart though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Seriously, I joke about things looking more organised on here than they are in real life but there is a good degree of truth in that. The eagle eyed will notice that there’s rarely much mention of housework on my lists, that’s because I’m essentially a lazy moo on the mundane stuff and also mercifully have a high tolerance for dust…I can be very focused, yes, but I can also be incredibly easily distracted! 😂
Today is again looking like a relatively lazy one - at some stage I will set a timer for a 15 minute general declutter, and a 15 minute tidy of the front room. Will also dismantle the big Lakeland box that the bread maker arrived in and try to get it into the overloaded recycling bin outside - I have a hunch some local householder is using it for commercial cardboard waste AGAIN. 🙄 There is also a full box of recycling to squeeze in as well - hopefully a team effort might sort that out.Shopping this morning - I have a list but will also have a MrEH which sometimes makes things expensive…I also need to resist yellow stickered bargains for the time being, ideally.Prolific now at zero paid/ £4.42 pending
OnePoll at 2470 points - !!!!!! HOW close?! 😂
Electricity use was £1.23 overnight but we now have two storage heaters giving out a decent level of warmth, plus that was also hot water and the WM. Experimenting with the WM at 20°C for regular loads - can’t see that will be a problem but Rugby kit, towels and bedding will still go through hotter.Meals from plan - We’ve had egg sarnies for breakfast using the last eggs, I’ll have a fish finger wrap for lunch which might use up the rest of the box of FF’s, and the burgers are out and defrosted for tea. Yep - it’s a carb-heavy day! 🍞😁

Completely agree - brains ❤️ carbs! 😁
Forgot to add the NSD tally this morning. - now on 5/18 - today wasn’t one but equally was only planned shopping so I’m happy with that.
Shopping - total was £18.76, which broke down as:
Week’s supplies: £11.61
Storecupboard: £ 4.71
Y/S’d (sliced beef for lunches) £2.44
The beef will do 5 days lunches for both of us so happy with that - MrEH has already divided it up for the freezer, and the storecupboard stuff was rice, pasta, passata & tomato purée - I have a few more storecupboard items I want to pick up to restock us and then I will feel confident that for that sort of stuff at least we will be in a good position to see off any future panic buying dramas.Other than that my only other achievements today have been a lovely walk around a couple of my favourite local woods (the photos which have for some reason appeared at the top, not the end, of this), and a rather delicious batch of Twinks Hobnobs which I last made so long ago I can’t even remember - sooooo good! They’re not strictly traditional as I realised after all the dry ingredients were weighed that I had no Golden Syrup so I subbed honey. Also threw in my own favourite tweak - a handful of flaked almonds. I’ve already eaten two and would be very surprised if several more don’t disappear this evening too! 😂 As a result of that I also now have a shopping list that includes SR Flour (literally a teaspoon left in the bag) and porridge oats (literally a teaspoon left in….you get the idea!) so might need a trip to Al’s tomorrow.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
