  • Awww WF I'm blushing now! :o

I've added my instagram feed detail to my profile (well I think I have - assuming it worked!) and the blog address is in there too I think, if anyone is interested.

Farmers market tomorrow morning, MrEH needs to go for a haircut as well and he'll have rugby training late morning I think. I'm also wanting to get out for a run so hopefully it won't be too freezing cold!

  • EH I'm way behind you on the swimming, but planning to work on it... may I recommend SwimSmooth? The website has loads of stuff on learning crawl and there's a free 30 day trial of the pro version. I got distracted by Christmas so I now need to get back in the water and get on with it.

Also, did you know there are plans for open water swimming events in the Hebrides this summer? :D (this is my motivation... )

Yep - NW. Remember it comes down to the exact date you opened it - mine was the 16th, but it was the 17th when everything finally showed as it should, and only then when I twigged that it was still showing the "Reg Saver" name as I'd renamed it as that! Doh!

Thanks for this. Yes mine was the 18th but it wasn't showing yesterday which is why I asked. It is showing today though. Thank you

That sounds interesting - part of the reason I struggle is that I have to be quite careful with my breathing - my nose essentially has no "non return valve" which means if my head is underwater even if I'm blowing out through it water still goes up my nose, and that then means the chlorine triggers my asthma which in turn makes me panic. :o I do have a nose clip and had a go at swimming with that for a while so that could be worth another go. I'll take a look - thank you! As for open water swimming that's a loooong way of my comfort zone! I do fancy the idea of sea swimming up there one day though just for the clarity of the water - strong likelihood of me not going out of my depth though! :rotfl:

Ah that's good. I must remember to set up the new transfer to the new one for the start of next month!

I do really love it - being able to go along on a Friday is great as generally the pool is fairly quiet!

  • Fairly busy day today - Farmers market this morning, got a big chunk of Gammon from one stall on special offer down to £10, some diced lamb and a half lamb shoulder from another, and a big lump of ox cheek that will do Monday night's beef stew perfectly as long as I get home in time tomorrow to get it and the veg into the slow cooker! (Or MrEH does it while I'm out - better still!) Also got a pair of lambswool insoles which should make a pair of boots of mine wearable again - the original insoles have rucked up inside and now rub my heels. Remembered I needed to collect my prescriptions so did that on the way back. Got my 5 mile run in as planned - part road, part trails along the river which was lovely!

I'm at the National Running show tomorrow at the NEC which should be fun. Got to be out at 8am to get into London to get the train though. Hoping I mind find that one of the stands has special offers on trail shoes as I found out for sure earlier that I need them for that running route at this time of year and they will come in handy for Hebrides running too, as well as after work stuff in the summer months. If I can't find any there though I found a pretty comfy feeling pair in Decathlon earlier so might end up going with those - bargain price of £24.99 as well!

  • I have loads of issues with breathing too, thanks to various ENT problems caused by surgery a few years ago, and I have the same panic problems when swimming...have you tried backstroke? It's my favourite because it doesn't involve my face being underwater :rotfl:

Nobody is too fat to swim WF - get yourself there with the smalls! Seriously, nobody will be looking at you - they're all too worried about what THEY look like! :rotfl:

I'll take a look DFD - can't recall the details offhand - and yep, I'll message you! Thank you! (I'm still quite new with them so mine may be under what others have, but I'll see!)

Oh SQ I'm SUCH a wimp - I don't like the risk of splashing from backstoke so I don't get on with that either! :rotfl: Honestly, I'm hopeless! :o Has got me thinking though - backstroke with the nose clip on might work for me - that could be worth a go! :T
