Can I suggest that you submit a subject access request to both tcb and to the insurance company? Both are legally obliged to not only provide you with the information they hold but also the source from which they gained it. Glad you found some milk powder Greying - I couldn't have helped as mine came from my local (new and wonderful) zero waste shop (probably eye-wateringly expensive in comparison, but I just don't look!).
Family cloth... I have a friend who does this (hubby does not participate) with her two kids - it was a natural shift from cloth nappies and they have a cesspit, so it works for them. But me, no.... I would be prepared to give it a go if I was also washing nappies, but the jury's still out on whether that will ever happen!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

GP - I'm not sure how you feel about their ethics (decline of the high street & all that) but have you thought about sourcing you powdered milk from @m@zon? N@tco sells through them & I've found them reliable for sourcing lentils & spices - very good quality, much fresher in fact & prices comparable to the shops.
Granted we in a rural location with no high street or local shops so most of our foodstuffs get delivered in some form or another - the exception is farm eggs from down the road when their chickens are not in quarantine and glorious local ice cream from the farm two country lanes over.:D4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Afternoon :hello:
INOD - I've never done what you are talking about, so I'll be honest and say that I'm not totally au fait with the process. However, I can't see (just me being thick, I'm sure) how it would prove that ins. co is just pulling a fast one? They have told TCB that my application through TCB was not the only referral - given that I only have a tcb a/c and don't have access to any other CB accounts, and didn't use/know of any promo codes, I fail to see how they can claim that. My 'purchase' of the insurance product was taken out through linking 'through' TCB, which was a 'one-time' only gig - why would you buy the same insurance more than once?. But what proof do I have, and tcb ain't gonna start upsetting their companies are they? I'm just not going to bother with CB again - I can't make it work for me, but appreciate that it works well for others.
Ironically, I have just spent a large amount of money (for me - but under £100) on something. I could have bought it either online or by phone (company can do either way), so I just double-checked, and of course the co was not listed with TCB. Probably because they are a small, family company that prides itself on doing a good job and providing excellent customer service. I ended up phoning the company, and making my order over the phone, as i do prefer to speak to humans. They weren't the cheapest, but the cheapest provider has a list as long as your arm, of disgruntled customers that haven't got their orders/samples/goods after weeks of waiting. The company doesn't answer the phone or calls are met with rudeness. Meanwhile, the company I dealt with meets orders quickly, sorts out problems, and in my experience today, picks up the phone by 4 rings.............
Everyone has their preferences, I know what mine are, and what (currently) works for me.
themadvix - that sorts it - I can't 'make' more clothes washing for myself, as we can't (easily) get dry what we do need to wash. So, nope, no, nada - family cloth deffo not for clan Greying
rtandon - i like to support the high street where I can, but I don't have bottomless pockets, so can't pay high prices just for the sake of it. HOWEVER, you have made me THINK! I had totally forgotten that n@tco did powdered milk (as may some of the other world food packaging companies). Due to a tip-off from a dear chumI recently found a good (high-street-ish) vendor of spices, pulses etc etc in a market town across the way - a heck of a deal closer/easier to get to than the city along that I used to visit. They may well stock milk powder too, so i could get it there. Had I had more time today, I could have called in at a mrS that may well have stocked milk powder, but i ran out of time and only got back to the car within skin of my allocated parking time as it was......... But it's great to have options - ta rtandon
Well, I've spent my money (hopefully wisely) today, in a range of shops, in a local-ish market town. I supported a workers co-operative, an independent trader, a charity (local hospice) and a big multi-national (W1lks). As well as taking time to smell the flowers in the memorial park :j Not too shabby, and we got to interact with real people tooThen I came home and ordered 'online' (OK, so it was a phone line, not t'web
). Perhaps I'm more of a 'consumer' than I thought.........:rotfl:
Right, I'm going to try to do some chores whilst BG is snoozing. But it involves dancing around DH who is trying to do DIY, so...........
Edit: Just popped over to my email a/c to check for mail, and was reading the order confirmation/payment confirmation for my lunchtime order, when another email popped into my box, confirming that my order is ready for despatch. This company really does seem to live up to it's online good reviews - hurrah for small business! :T

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Good Evening :hello:
 to UCSHow was the parcel experience GP? Do tell...
Spiffing! Parcel arrived within the first 5 minutes of my delivery 'window', approximately 27 hrs after being orderedI didn't pay any 'extra' as such for such prompt delivery, but boy, do I appreciate delivery co's that are able to provide tracking/delivery timeframes - and companies that use good delivery firms
Product is 'as per', so all in all, I'm a v. happy bunny. I've got what I wanted for the 'second cheapest' available price, and given that the cheapest supplier may not have got my goods to me within 27hrs, well, then I'll take the slight financial hit (just over £6) for the peace of mind
Today has been a bit of a ...... um, well, not overly much has been achieved BUT, what has been done has made progress and we're all alive and well, so I'm not really complaining at my lot. Let's just say today was a bit of quiet time.......
I'd like to say it was a nsd, but Dh picked up a loaf of bread, so.......
Tea this evening was a bit of an improvement, in that it incorporated salads! :j I boiled some brown basmati rice, made coleslaw from half the small cabbage languishing in the fridge, padding it out with carrot (YS'd) and celery (also YS'd). I used a mayo/yoghurt combo for the coleslaw dressing, and added a splodge of chopped garlic and some dijon mustard. Made up the (now) ubiquitous beetroot and apple salad (Happy Pear recipe) sliced up some cucumber, quartered a tomato and washed some wild rocket to put on the side. The whole lot was topped off with a boiled egg and I scattered a few fresh blueberries over the lot. Didn't buy anything specifically for it, used up some things, filled us up and incorporated some fruit and veg into our digestive systems :j
Today i am grateful for these 3 things;
perseverance
planning
parcel deliveries
Ta for popping in. Appreciated. Greatly.
