I don't personally buy them so not sure if it's a deal as such but Mr T has Avocados on 2 for £2.50 from tomorrow (packs of 4)

Creeps back into the lurking corner :o

UncannyScot - you are too kind :o But you have reminded me about something that I had forgotten.

I had meant to say yesterday - but forgot - that I had had a reflective moment on just how much help, support and thoughtfulness had been flowing our way just recently. I mean, oodles and oodles. People looking out for us, people looking out for things for us, people giving us gifts of immense use and practicality, people undertaking the equivalent of 'project management' roles for us, people doing what they said they would do, when they said they would do it etc etc etc

I mean, the list is endless, and it's been wonderful and over-whelming in equal measure, because it has all come from the root of love/kindness; no-one has gained financially in any of this!

So having forgotten yesterday, to put out into the ether how utterly, utterly grateful I was to receive all this kindness, I forgot to mention it in my post, again, this morning! :wall::doh:

I then promptly knocked over the jug of herbs that I'd put fresh water into, moments before, and flooded the countertop. And then BG managed to slip and fall against a chair, and bash their face.

    Connected?

Can I just put it out there that I am very, very grateful for the help and assistance I and my family have had, just of late, and am trying to use any and every opportunity to pay-it-forward.

Thanks everyone and the universe :D

    Whoop - E.N.J.O.Y :j

We didn't have nowt so whoop inspiring for us tea :(:rotfl:We did however have brown rice, balsamic marinaded tomatoes, steamed green beans, pugilese salad, cucumber, grilled halloumi, a red pepper vinagrette and a strewing of toasted sunflower & pumpkin seeds.

And there may well be British strawberries and greek-style yoghurt just now ;)

Can't believe how fast this week is whizzing by and I've not done half of the things on my list :( ho hum.

But I've had some really great moments with BG, achieved some things (on my own and with DH's help) and kept in contact, by various means, with a plethora of chums. I'll take that any day of the week :D

    Today I am grateful for these 3 things;

    pootles and toddles

    chums to converse with

    small steps of progress.

I'm sure they are beanie - and I'll probably try them next time, as the ones I bought were insipid, and you had to think hard that you were eating strawberries. This had not been the case last week with the spanish ones. I had recently had some belgium strawberries too - and they were far better than those I bought yesterday. I'm not against EU produce, it's just when it is British Strawberry season, I expect good quality fruit hailing from here.

Right, lots of running about hither and yon, accomplishing (hopefully) lots of chores and appointments today.

If I remember to purchase something green and leafy, tea is slated to be goats cheese salad, but it could all be subject to change.....

    Good Morning :hello:

We ended up having veg pasta for tea last night, as I got given some HG new potatoes, and I wanted to make a bake to go with them and salad - but didn't have enough time yesterday, what with one thing and another, so we'll have that today, instead.

Can I just mention that when i highlight things like 'wonky' asparagus for a 'reasonable' price in mrM, I don't expect y'all to go in and buy it all!!! :D [tonguefirmlylodgedincheeksmiley] There weren't so much as a sniff of a stick in our local mrM yesterday! Norra stick! Gorn. All sold out :(

I did end up getting some of the avocados - I had wanted to investigate the mrT offer, WannabeFree told us about, but ran out of time to get there - which is a shame, as it's the only time i have the car this week :( But if the offer is still on at the weekend, I'll have a ganders :D The ones I got from mrM were product of Colombia, and were hass avocados. There were 6 in my net, but the avos were quite small - hope they don't have a big stone!

I ended up spending nearly £19 in mrL. £15 of that was healthy vegetables and nuts, yoghurt, cheese, wholemeal bread etc. I wonder what the bill would have been had I bought rubbish........ I did buy some of their asparagus, as whilst it was £1.39, that was for a 250g bundle, so whilst I haven't done the maths, I think it's within reach of the mrM pricing (for a smaller bundle) and that of HB (for a 200g bundle). I grilled several spears last night and threw them in with the olives, cherry toms, red onions etc in the pasta dish. Lovely asparagus - and whilst you had to pick and choose a little, the spears were reasonably thin - no tree trunks! I will use the rest of the asparagus in the bake tonight, with the new tatties on the size - using more of the garden mint i was given :j

Lots of itty bitty things to achieve again today, so best get to it.

    Ta for popping by. Appreciated.

Strawberries are a bit like tomatoes for me - no, not in flavour you silly lot - in the way I buy them! :rotfl::D I buy both based on smell - Strawberries we ONLY buy British, in season, but if they don't smell properly "strawberryish" then I'd sooner go without. Tomatoes I do buy out of season from foreign climes, but again, they need to actually smell like tomatoes, if you know what I mean! We never ever buy dutch ones - nasty little waterballs that taste of nothing! Same "smell test" method applies to raspberries - although those are back to being bought only in the UK growing season, too.

You've reminded me that MrM have stopped sending me special offers so I probably need to go and shop there this week - it's a bit further away but generally speaking well worth the trip! I can also go via Lil's to see what their bargains might be! :T
