Sorry if this sounds all over the place and unclear but this is one way I manage my debt.
You have said you're in 12,000 Australian dollars of debt on a credit card, I would forget about that for now and tell yourself you are paying off 2,000 Australian dollars! It's all mind games with debt, telling yourself you are paying back 2,000 is a lot less than 12,000, you will see your debt go down quicker and by seeing good results, you will be more motivated!
Once you've paid off the 2,000 dollars, your main debt is then in single thousand figures, which will seem a lot less than your original figure!
Here are some simple ways to earn some extra income!
Swgabucks - An online survey site, some people make £200/$300 + a month by doing it full time!
Find a part time job - for example cleaning, baby sitting, gardening
sell un wanted stuff on facebook or ebay!
If you really want to reduce your debt and have more financial control you will need to make big changes! I'd love to see your state of affairs (as mentioned in one of my posts above) if you wouldn't mind showing us, or me via private message if you're not happy with publishing it online!

I will get my figures together and post them. Some are paid on a monthly basis, some weekly and some annually so will draw up a table and post it.
I do like your idea of paying of 2,000 dollars first. It would be an achievement to go down to owing only single figures. So will definitely take this on board.
I will also look at doing online surveys. I am a bit housebound so that is something I could easily do.
Thanks once again for your suggestions.0 -
Great to see your check in June.
Someone on here was earning quite good money from audio typing which is something else you can do from home if you are a decent typist." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Well I signed up with Swagbucks. Let's see how I go with that. It seems I'm limited a lot in the surveys I complete - probably because of age, which is understandable. However, I think that if I keep it up I should be able to get enough points going to get some gift cards which will help with birthdays. I have 4 of them in early February and although for a while now gifts have just been token things I do like to be able to give my young grandchildren something. So this should help.
Will try and find the audio typist one. I am a not bad typist and wouldn't mind a go at this.
Thanks for continued help. Am working on my expenses so will see how that goes.0 -
You are doing great just being so positive about the action within your control. That's all any of us can do." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Well I joined up with Swagbucks and spent a couple of hours filling in surveys and watching videos. Slow going I must say and many surveys when I answer the first few questions it says they have none for me - obviously it will depend on age and family etc so I understand that. But if I can do a couple a day then by February it should add up to enough for a couple of gift cards for grandchildren. So thanks for the suggestion.0

I thought that I had better put a bottom signature on my posts so I and everyone else can see where I am going with my money. Suppose I am excited as I know I will be able to pay off $200 tomorrow and can't wait to see that recorded.
October 20 - Owe $12,500, October 27 - $12,400

It's great to see you have such a proactive approach
keep it up, it may seem like it takes forever but it will all be worth it in the long run!
