I agree that the 'holiday from hell' comment is overdramatic and OTT and that the OP needs to get a grip and put on a cheerful face for the children.

However, the hotel's own website does clearly show photos of rooms with two beds, with the following description:
    Standard Room (2 Adults + 2 Children)
22–31 m², balconied, available for maximum 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children (some standard rooms). The bedroom includes 2 single beds or 1 French bed (other persons accommodated with additional beds).

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

That may be true but the beds are clearly single beds

I feel so cheated that I just want to pack my bags and go home. My kids have been great so far but seeing them so upset today has really broken my heart.
    Oh come on. Heartbroken? really?
If the hardship of sleeping on an uncomfortable sofa bed is really so bad that you want to go home early then how on earth do you cope with actual emergencies?
Why are you kids even upset? they got to sleep in the comfy double bed so I don't know why they would care.

Not to pick at your post but I'm really confused as another thread says your children are 7 , 5 and 6 months old when you booked.

    Yeah strange that!

Only just seen that. Yes, it's confusing. Given that they were only going for 8 nights, and this is their second hotel, it's hardly like they've got long to put up with the 'holiday from hell'.
  • There's absolutely no way two children of four and seven would dictate to me which beds they slept in! Or am I being harsh?

Oh boy, is the OP storing up trouble for the teenage years! I'm sure they'll be so traumatised by having to sleep on sofa beds they'll never want to leave the house again.

Totally absurd over-reaction. Be sure to claim for the years of counselling they are going to need!
  • Well it looks like the basis of holiday from hell has been covered already but I would add that a holiday from hell my constitute a serious illness, mugging or natural disaster and not the sleeping facilities, I know you are annoyed OP but you just need to make do and pull yourself together here and sort the kids out also who seem to rule the roost from my reading of your posts here.
