For me taking two rooms will just take the enjoyment out of our holiday.
But you aren't enjoying the holiday anyway.
    I
I understand why you all think I should take up the offer of two rooms, but if I had wanted to go for that option I would have gone for a number of different hotels at the time of booking. I specifically chose this hotel as It advertised two beds in one room. And now I feel like I have been cheated.
But it is as it is.
You booked the one you're in now so saying what you would have done isn't helping your situation.
I feel so cheated that I just want to pack my bags and go home. My kids have been great so far but seeing them so upset today has really broken my heart.

If you can get an earlier flight home, don't assume that TR will pay for it.
Have you spoken to them about your room not having 2 double beds since you arrived at the hotel?

Like some other posters I think you're probably projecting your disappointment onto your children.
What does your OH think of the situation?

If so, on TR I can not see any description of a room with two double beds. Are you in what they call a Large Room? Could you have been confused with what you read and what you thought you would receive in terms of bed layout?

If you change the search from 2 adults to "2 adults plus 2 children" the large room is "2 double and 1 sofa bed"

    I noticed that too.
I think the OP really needs to get in touch with TR (if she hasn't done so already).

OP, I'm sorry but I think you need to get over yourself a bit and make the best of it instead of sulking and letting it rub off on your children. Things do go wrong and this is not of the 'holiday from hell' category.

Yes you didn't get what you thought you booked - perhaps only the first hotel of your twin centre got checked properly at the booking stage? I assume you've asked what TR as well as the hotel can do for you? Two rooms for the price of one is not really a bad offer. The hotel can't magic up what it doesn't have.

I'd take the 2 rooms so that remains an option for a good sleep. Then I'd have fun 'camping out' in the other room - buy a couple of cheap inflatable lilos for the children or bring a mattress in if you can. Takes turns, have a laugh over who gets the rubbish bed.

Honestly it seems a bit sad that this is making you want to fly home rather than find a way to carry on having fun as a family and letting the kids call the shots on where they sleep might not be the best call. Just tire them out - most kids can just curl up on the floor if tired enough.

This has got to be a wind-up. Two kids dictating to a 6' father

I can't believe the parents have given 2 young kids the bed while they're sleeping on the floor themselves!
  • Take the 2 rooms and don't be so daft. It will also give you an extra bathroom which must be useful?

Not to pick at your post but I'm really confused as another thread says your children are 7 , 5 and 6 months old when you booked.

Not gonna lie, my kids usually get the enjoyment from our day time activities & the evening entertainment on in the hotel.

I'd happily take the offer of 2 separate rooms as you're going to be apart for a few hours...
