Despite having a chronic illness I have had no help with prescription costs through uni. My application was rejected on the grounds that I have enough income, but I'm only getting the minimum student loan. Can only assume it was because of the small reimbursements I get from the DSA (disabled students allowance) however this doesn't cover prescriptions. Don't know what I'd do without the pre-paid certificates!!
Incidentally, my uni is now running a campaign to get as many students to fill in the HC1 forms as possible. The vast majority will be rejected but the hopes are it will highlight the problems many students are facing..0 -
he wears glasses so no idea how he will manage to pay for eye test and glasses as this will be £100 plus.
In our union there's an opticians that offers free eye tests and help with buying glasses to students from low income families - has he tried looking for a similar place at his uni?0
