O2 and CPW 02 win iPhone contract in the UK
iPhone will launch on 9th November 2007 in the UK
- O2 has won the contract
- Carphone warehouse will be jointly selling the phone on O2 contract as well as of course O2 stores
- all CPW stores and O2 stores will have a dedicated iPhone customer services and repair area
- The iPhone will sell for £269 (8gb version) on a 18 month contract.
- Contract prices are: £35, £45, and £55 per month. All prices include UNLIMITED web access and data
- O2 have also struck a deal with The Cloud WiFi company – this means iPhone users can access over 7,500 wifi hotspots FOR FREE in all monthly tarrifs.
Brilliant news. Will they really shake up the mobile phone market now? We shall see.
CPW of course the biggest market player in the mobile phone market in Europe - it had to be them who can really help Apple push sales as much as possible in UK especially.

No 3G, the iphone will use edge speeds so I doubt the "unlimited web access" is as good as it soundsSLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -
i think the iphone is overhyped and overrated if you want to see an iphone beater chesck this site out
http://www.mobilegazette.com/sony-ericsson-w960i-07x06x15.htm
it has all the features of an iphone but rather than coming out with some clumsy 2 megapixel camera the w960i has a 3.2 megapixels it is also touch screen and has 8gb to store your music on and best of all will be available around the same time as the iphone0 -
It has done very well in the US and many believe it will do so in the UK as well. Some even believe in about 3-5 years time it will overtake Nokia as far as market share is concerned in the mobile phone market.0

Cant see there being much demand until after the prices drop
People who pay that sort of money are normally business's etc and they would much prefer a dedicated pdp or blackberry system as opposed to an overhyped music player
this phone will be aimed at teens and young professionals and i doubt they will pay that much up front and on contract when you'd be cheaper buying an ipod and getting one of the other heavy feature phones for nothing0 -
iS THERE GOING TO BE A PAYG OPTION0
