Firstly, I pay a monthly charge for my staff permit so either way I am not paying £0 for parking in the car park.
The staff and visitors has the same entrance. The writing under Pay On Foot says 'see notices in car park for conditions'. So I have to enter before I can even see what the conditions are. The blue sign says ANPR in operation. There is a lot of information underneath that but nothing that could be read by a driver in their car.And its on the passenger side of the window.
They are the only signs when entering the car park, which refer to the parking restriction on entry to the car park so was going to use this to appeal with POPLA.
The other appeal back in 2014 was won with help from this board (which is why Ive come back for further advice) but was for some different issues so I cant use the same points to appeal on.0 -
The car park is pay on exit rather than pay and display. My car was in a visitors bay with the staff permit in the front windscreen. Apparently if we let security know we have an appointment in advance (now Im told) then we dont get a ticket as we are classed as visitors. So we can park there, they are just being bloody minded0

Were you informed of this proviso, either by signage or in any paperwork . Or do they think you are some sort of mind reader? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

There is nothing I have seen written down, and it was only when I went to see security after receiving the ticket that they said I should have let them know (which I did the following day when I was back for another appointment and again parked in the visitors bay).0

Does that staff permit entitle you to park in the visitor's parking section?
If it does then I would be raising hell with your employer, as your staff permit should have been valid in the place you parked in.
If it doesn't then your staff permit has no relevance to the issue at hand! Two separate "contracts" so to speak. A successful UKPC claim will result in you having paid £0 for visitors parking, because your staff one was useless in that car park!
Not really fair on other motorists who would have just paid the money. But in your case you probably had a lot on your plate, so I can appreciate your situation. I again wish your daughter luck with dealing with the cancer and implore you to be a bit more mindful of possible charges in future. Some people live and breathe UKPC appeals but in reality for any average person it is just unnecessary stress that you add into your life!
(oh, and I agree with others that UKPC charges are extortionate! But actions should have consequences; just like my post here this on a thread where I'm the villain for making a common-sense post! I'll get some stick for this)
