    Hi Weekwnd Savers,
Not too bad a day on the pennies front. City centre trip, so had parking to pay....but it wasn't the other nearby city centre where you practically have to sell one of your own kidneys to raise the extortionate parking charges.
*Sorted out 3 more Christmas gifts. Not money saving in itself, but it does save paying for delivery & I'd rather help keep high street shops open.
*Coffee. Was not spendy! Bought a coffee for both of us but did not buy a cake. When I fancied another one pm, decided to wait till we got home & save £4.
*Free cake each from Boots (O2 Priorities).
*Grocery shopping just about on budget. Nectar points total increased by nearly £5 as we had so many vouchers.
*mr f found a blu-ray he wanted in CEX for £4 (limited edition in a tin & thus special to anoraks such as himself
*3 x 50p pieces paid into my sealed pot.
*Knit more blanket squares tonight so as to make something useful & lovely from my stash of l/o sock yarn. The squares are small so it should look like patchwork.
*Staying in. Glass of wine, finish watching 'Deutschland '83', light a few candles for nice glow as no heating on yet.
    Enjoy the weekend,
    F xx

DNMS - Re your sock. So, for the heel flap, you are just working on half the stitches & you are working them on just 2 needles. The heel flap is just a straightforward piece of stocking stitch (alternate rows of knit & purl). This means that the right side will be smooth & all the ridges will be on the wrong side. If what you are describing is occasional ridges on the smooth side, then I can only assume you've accidentally done 2 purl rows or 2 knit rows together instead of alternating them as per pattern (that's if you are knitting my basic pattern). Shame you live at the other end of the country.....easiest way by far would be meeting for a coffee & me just talking you through the heel bit while stuffing ourselves with caffiene & cake. That being impossible, I'll continue to try & guess the problem long distance, lol x

Quickie from me as dashing about. Small things

    1. Two items of clothing into the charity bag. More space in the cupboard. Free collection once the bag is full saves me a job.

    2. TRU was having an event today with lots of free activities. DS had fun doing a treasure hunt that enables him to enter a £500 TRU voucher prize draw. DD toddled round playing with lots of things (she's pooped now) and both of them came away with gift bags with little toys and coupons in. Some useful bits like wet wipes too.

    3. DS is going to a big Halloween party tonight that one of the mums is hosting. We are all staying as there is no point leaving and coming home in between due to distance. Hes very excited and is going as a Ghost buster :)

    4. Lunch was leftover pasta and mince meat with cheese for both the children, from last night's meal. OH and I had delicious chicken wraps using up cooked chicken, peppers, onions, and lettuce from our Fajitas last night.

    5. Killed off 2 jars of mayo that had a generous scrape left in each for the above mentioned wraps.

    6. Another load out on the line.

    7. Paid £26 off my cc

    8. Will be cycling to my errand in a while, around 45 mins solid cycling round trip

    9. Wrote out plans for my job tommorow to ensure I purchased just enough provisions. There will be useful items to come back after the job as I never use a whole butter for sandwiches for example.

    10. Lovely organic coffee purchased yesterday for extra Mr points going down well. Who needs Costa lots :)

:rotfl: I've just had to go and have a look :o I do something similar but not quite as formal. I love a bit of organisation though so I maybe I need to put a new journal on my Christmas list ;)

Determined I was also considering the meat box, looks very good quality and I agree with lucky lady about quality from musc1e f00ds v supermarket

Yesterday was productive, including hubby finishing 1 and a half walls in the girls room of paper and removeing about half of the excess wood on another wall. Will see if we can finish today, although in reality we have a few weeks before the plasterer comes. Also today:

Meals from stores, girls wanted a roast dinner so we are roasting a chicken breast as we don't have any left over roast meat in freezer and I don't want to buy a joint
Used leftover cheese sauce from lasagne to make cauli cheese for today
Cheap wash on as I was up early, will hang outside to dry
Get ready for school/work - packed lunches, uniform
    Just iron what I need
    No heating still
    Look for journals :rotfl:
Crunch some medium term budget numbers and plan how we're going to get there.

Will check back later. Enjoy your Sunday. PF.
  • Morning pf :D your Los not know the clocks went back last night either??? :rotfl:

I've been up an hour, madam watching telly and I'm mooching around :D feeling bright and bushy tailed! Ooo you've made my mind up! Think I'm going to order it! I think with about another £10 of meat this should be enough to last us a month :money:

Things I'd like to get done today:

A load of washing. Will put on line and then on drier to finish off over night
Roast chicken for dinner. Will divvy up and Los & freeze
Make pizza bases and brownies for tomorrow
Go to the alottment for an hour
Meet up with dd for a coffee
Bags, clthes and lunches ready for tomorrow
Halloween crafts and prep for tomorrow
Hopefully go for a nice autumnal walk

That's it I think. Hope you all have a lovely sunday

    Morning all,
PF, I started looking on Pintrest and lost several hours! I saw a habit tracker page which I think would work really well for me. Just need to sort out my desk and find a suitable notepad until I spot what I really want ;)
    Dnms, your day sounds lovely.

My kids were up early too, so I feel like I've got lots done already :)
    Todays list
    * 2 loads of washing done & out on the line, 2 to go (not done any all week as they've been on hols) :D
    * Kids school reading done and put away in their bags ready for tomorrow :D
    * YS Venison meatballs browned off and now in the sc with tomatoes, grated carrot, diced peppers, onion, sweetcorn, water & stock cubes. This is going to be for lunch with mash. :D
    * YS teacake for me and ys pitta breads for the kids breakfast - freezer actually has some free space! :D
    * Showered but left hair to dry naturally :D
    * Came across a nearly empty pot of e45 cream, used some on my dry skin on my elbows, will use it up for this, will leave it out on the window til its gone :D

    Still to do
    * Prep lunches for school/work
    * Make a date cake - still got lots of bags of OOD dates to use up :rotfl:
    * Find a family film to watch this afternoon, will use up the last of the popcorn too
    * Use blankets etc rather then heating
    * Think more about what I want from my bullet journal. But DO NOT spend all day looking pintrest for ideas!!
    * Check luckyphone :D

Sure I'll do more but that's it for now :)
    Have a lovely Sunday all

    Morning all,
Well the lovely mr f brought me breakfast in bed to get my strength up for today's tasks:
*Harvest the last few squash & courgettes & compost plants.
*Take down cucumber plants/frame in ghouse & use space for next year's sweetpeas.
*Take down runner bean plants & pack canes away for next year.
    *Gather more apples.
*Move worm composter unit to greenhouse over winter to maintain peoductivity.
*Open a compost bin to spread over a couple of veggie beds. Remember a big spadeful to go on top of rhubarb crown to protect uf it gets frosty.
*BBQ & bonfire later so mr f will be chopping up 2 old garden chairs to burn rather than driving to the tip.Hopefully there will be bbq leftovers.
    *Bake norwegian apple cake.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Put a load of laundry on overnight timer for cheap tariff.
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water & leave hair to dry naturally.
    *Knit more blanket squares.
*Loads of free exercise out in veggie garden today.
I haven't really followed the meat offer discussion, but am just mentioning to look out for good bulk offers at local independent butchers. One of ours has 3 or 4 different meat packs on offer at a time with lots of different things in each & another does discounts if you buy a 5kg pack of any meats for the freezer (plus free delivery).
Right.....the shonky old gardening leggings are going on & I'm getting started.
    Cheers all,
    C x
