Congratulations on finding the gift card, Valli. I hope your sister heals really quickly after the op. Thinking of you both and sending (((hugs))).

Congratulations, Thrift Monster on your silver wedding anniversary. I hope you're not too busy to enjoy it!

Good luck tomorrow Lamewolf for the dog lady and I hope you're fully recovered from your fall.

If riding makes you happy, Biscuit Monster, it absolutely counts as 'Me Time' which, by and large, women don't tend to allow themselves once they've got a house to manage and kids to bring up. Lovely that you've found something that makes you happy.

I hope your work is still satisfying if you're going to be in a reduced role, Jazee.

That's how Flying works, Lynne. Once you get the bit between your teeth tidying all the cupboards suddenly seems straightforwad, which 10 minutes before it happened would have been unthinkable. Strange, isn't it?

Oooh, building works really are progressing aren't they Dizzy. I hope it goes smoothly and you can cope with the disruptions along the way. Kelpie's thundershirt was brought into action last night during an amazingly loud, very sudden and unexpected storm, so I thought gratefully of you as I strapped him in. Marvellous things.

I spent the whole of yesterday 'shovelling one turd at a time' in the attic having, after many delays, finally received the storage things I ordered from Wi1ko's. It's taken three and a half years to find a way of dealing with the precious gibble up there that I want and need to keep, while working my way through everything that I can let go. Even OH joined me for an hour or so, and he's taken the dust sheet off a pile he hasn't touched for over 20 years and has already given me stuff to either put on the bay of e, or gumtwig, or just CS to get it out of the house. Next thing on the attic of doom is to get him to realise we really don't need to keep all of his mother's kitchenalia but that's going to have to wait for a day when I can spend at least a couople of hours up there with him and today Kelpie is being dunked and clipped, so that's four hours of my day spoken for one way or another. I'm just so thrilled that I've finally got to grips with the attic. Thank you Flyladies One and All, past and present. Without you I'd still be trying to work out how to deal with seemingly impossible Spaces of Doom.
    Better is good enough.

    Welcome back wendywitch xx

Downstairs loo cleaned, back patio swept, apples plucked. Lol, I've left one that looks like it's just had a bite out of it. It will be squirrels or magpies but it looks freshly bitten and is about the size a human would bite, did make me smile.

Just had lunch so I'll clean up after that, and sort what to do with the last 38 apples. We've had quite a harvest this year. So I guess it's mostly kitchen for me today.

Oh I dusted and vacced th LR, then watched Saturday's strictly with a cuppa :)

Kids have helped in the garden and now DD is drawing a mermaid on our whiteboard lol.

Oh, I've ordered a Guinea Pig hutch! And some hay and pellets and a water bottle! Need to pm my friend who knows someone with a GP shelter (small furry animal not doctor) and see when we can visit!

The weather in Wales was very kind to us, and its sunny here too, hurrah!

Off to shove some stuff around, hugs all round xx

  • Glasses sorted at Mr T and I got quite a bit of food and the cava as well. Psyching myself up to do the first layer of royal icing on the cake. I thought it would be nice to recreate one tier of our wedding cake. First time round mum made the cake and a friend of hers iced it. Cake no problem but my icing is very hit and miss:cool: I was wondering if I could get the plasterer to do the final coat of royal icing - I'm sure he'd be better than me:D:D

Towels all washed and dried from this morning's water escape and about to do HHI

On Monday evening I will also be posting over on the FB Flylady MSE thread details about this year’s Christmas Card Exchange if anyone wants to join in.
    Thank you Natty.

I am willing to sort out the Flylady Secret Santa again this year - unless anyone else wants to do it?

    Good luck for tomorrow, LW.

I dusted and wiped thoroughly upstairs this morning while DH did the hoovering. Will try to do the same downstairs tomorrow. I also spent 2 hours in the garden this afternoon, potting up heuchera, admiring a lovely frog who had been hiding under the heuchera pots, and digging out a shrub that I want to replace with a bush apple tree (probably a russet) that I hope will suit our tiny garden.

Still haven't finished the Gift Aid claim...
  • MrsMP I really feel for them. Some years ago our car caught fire due to an electrical fault and was written off partly because of the smoke damage to the interior/upholstery. I used to be terrible for leaving things in the car and it taught me a lesson. I lost a coat, pushchair, car seat, a bag of baby things and various odds and ends and found that I could only claim £50 for belongings left in the car. That was upsetting enough never mind it being your home.

Anyhow I have a few days off the paid stuff so DH and I are planning a few days out. Oooh and DH is going out on Saturday so I am hoping that I might just get a day out on my own - this never ever happens. I have told the boys that I want to shop for girly things/Christmas presents in the hope that they dont want to tag along!

Dd3 had just popped round to collect some washing and drop more off, we are storing it outside but undercover. Her fella said the flat does smell so much better tonight when he got home from work.
Kaz fan sounds brilliant but I wouldn't want to lug one up the stairs to her top flat it was bad enough helping them dispose of the old wm and bring new one in. It made us all glad Dh does weightlifting.
YL the car fire sounds horrendous, it's scary how much you take for granted till something like that happens.
Thrift glad you ae all alright after the flooded hallway and hope plasterer is correct it it all being fixable

Just dropped ds1 off at open mic so going to watch a DVD

    Have a good night everyone

I've just had a quick fling-athon. I put my bin out and nice NDNs too as they are away. Theirs was half empty so ever the opportunist I ad a sort through my box of doom.
Also filled a charity bag ready for morning.
And listed a snowsuit on ebeast. DD squeezed into it and wanted to keep it but it was right up her bum :rotfl:

That's all for tonight it think. Unless I can motivate myself to change my bed. Have a new brushed cotton sheet which might be nice :)

DS radiator not working. I've bled it and water came out straight away. It's not even hot at the bottom. Possibly an airlock. A quick google suggests taking it off  any other suggestions before I get a plumber in? I'm not sure I'm up to removing it myself...
