Have just visited my cousin's new baby that was born in the early hours of Sunday morning, he's gorgeous and very good! was over 8lbs:eek: they are still deciding on a name as they had lots of girls names planned but no boys.At the moment its a cross between Charles and Oliver with Oliver being the favourite so far. It is my cousins 3rd child but his partners first. The baby has a teenage brother and sister who dote on him!

hedge cutting finished:j and off to the skip in a minute.

Hi all - just popping in for a minute between bouts of washing and pegging out (me AND the washing). Just wanted to say (((hugs))) to AMIE and HARIBO and, also, thanks for all the 'welcome homes' - I've really missed you all and can't wait to get that post-holiday chaos sorted out so that I can catch up with you all properly. The weather is lovely here (not as warm as France but good for the UK in September and great for getting all the washing dry!) Anyway, back to the grindstone - will call in later.

    Afternoon all

Hugs to all the poorly ones - hope you all start to feel better soon.

Had a busy day - got loads done - lots of de-cluttering done just in time for the rubbish men tomorrow :j .

Spag bol bubbling away for dinner - just need to cook the pasta and garlic bread.

Must admit I've finished my christmas shopping - was one pressie short but once I'd decluttered DD1s room I found a Dr Who shaker maker that she'd not opened from last year - offered to buy it off her to give to my nephew - result! I've been buying bits as I've seen them and had a great result last week in a "borders" book shop where they had loads of bits reduced to £1 each - got loads of stocking fillers and even a set of geomag - reduced from £24.99 to £1  Bargin of the week.

Got all the winter duvets out today - was so chilly here this morning - dug out my winter clothes too so that I can get them washed and freshened up - not that much of it fits me - how did that happen? Determined not to buy anything new as I really need a pair of boots this year - not cheap when I really would like a wide fitting, wide calf, knee length pair.......I've found some on the Evans web site - just need to go in and have a look at them before I splash out........my last pair of Evans boots are 6 years old now and looking tatty - they've been consigned to my - "only wear in the dark" boots.

Hope you all have a great evening.

  • Hi Everyone

Managed to keep up with things reading wise at work today and find it so frustrating now that I can't post anything.

I am just about to phone Mum and I want to thank you so much for the lovely birthday wishes for her you have posted today. I am very touched and I know she will be too. I tried to explain about the site, the forum, messages etc the other week and she was totally bamboozled. She could not get her head round me being able to form friendships like this over the internet. I tried to compare it with having penpals but on a much larger scale but Bless her, she couldn't grasp the concept.

Hope to post again later. Need to chill out a bit now as I was held up at work and something is brewing there that I am in a bit of a humph about. Decisions are being made, assumptions being made, job descriptions changing, no discussion with those involved!!! Same old story, I hear some of you saying.

    Love and hugs to all

  • Hi again

Just had a good long call with Mum. She said, can I phone my friends on the internet as I can't do the computer thing! I said no, you can't as that is not how it works but I will let everyone know you appreciate the good wishes. My sister is going to take her to OS as a guest so she can see how concerned you are about her. My sister (for whatever reason) doesn't seem to see the need to sign up - well, to be honest they are not so OS as us!

Mum is feeling tired (DS took her to St Andrew's today) but bearing mind first fresh air for almost 4 weeks understandable, and let's be honest the air has been fresh up here today!!!

    Love GB xxx

Got to work this morning & none of the copiers would work due to the cold, so I turned on the little oil filled heater to warm the room up. After 30 mins I was able to start work. I asked for a timer, so I could set the heater to come on at 6:30 so the machines will start at 7:00. Not only was I refused a timer, the heater was taken away as a fire hazard, I wish I'd kept my mouth shut now.

if the copiers won't work because they are cold and they've taken your heater away then you can't work I would bide your time and see how long it is before something is done especially if they aren't getting the stuff they want
