Hello peeps,I havent posted here in the daily thread, in a while.
This weekend we drove all the way to scotland (nearly 600 miles)to deposit DS at uni.
We stayed at the youth hostel for 2 nights and we were impressed at the organisation and cleanliness and also the price which was about half what a hotel room would have been.
Back last night after a 13 hour drive (we swapped every few hours so noone fell asleep at the wheel) and 1 hour of a wretched traffic jam on the M1. Thank goodness for the satnav thing on hubbies phone.
Today I only needed to buy loo rolls and a chicken as DD(17) survived on baked beans ,cheese and microwaved spuds while we were gone. Sains were doing 2.7kg frozen chickens for about 3.80'ish which seems very good value.
Later will pick the sweetcorn which has so far avoided being eaten by the magpies.
Then I must tackle DS's abandoned bedroom as he has 'tidied' it himself and I can now see the floor
Hoping everyone is keeping well and hugs to all who need one

News re the lap top, it appears it was the hard drive that failed, none of the probs as was the last time, so hard drive is on its way back to be replaced, should get my computer back towards the weekend.
Have been sweating trying to down load designs for my new machine have managed it at last.....so have been having fun sewing some of them out.
Defrosted soup for lunch and we have spag bol for supper with garlic bread and the remains of the crumble from Sunday.......need to have a root through the freezer before I do my next month shopping list....its still very full and we are away for a week, so should be able to take enough with us to eat for the week.
OH has started on his winter programme, going out for a walk every day. We have cut the allotment visits to once a week now, preparing for the winter crops, garlic and winter onions and checking the cabbage etc, one of the cabbage plants is a calebrease and one is a brussel sprout so we will have some choice, the greyhound cabbage are hearting up nicely, and a couple of the savoys look promising.

Three machine loads of washing on the line outside and a huge pot of veg and butter bean soup has been made for tea.
Sun is shining but it still feels cold.
Hugs to everyone feeling poorly.
Have been looking for a house I like as much as the one that we lost but no luck so far.
DD(18) goes to uni at the weekend so will be a mad flurry of activity later in the week!
