OS daily 18th Sept 07

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 18/09/07 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. I seem to be first again. Must be the dark mornings helping everyone to sleep better?

All is well here I think. I work at 1pm today so it gives me time to sort out a few things at home.
Clean out the chickens, make sure the seats are booked on the plane, file some papers in the office, photograph some e-bay. etc.

I also have to search for a new TV. My Lidl 28 inch decided to go bad on me last night so it's now in the garage. I don't really have the money for a new flat screen... Maybe a second hand one in the paper... . I would love a 42 inch plasma, but in the current financial instability I don't think I will be borrowing any more money for a bit.

Well coffee must be done... cheers

Good Morning N9eav, and everyone still to log on. Sorry about your TV,N9eav - but there's not a lot on worth watching anyway!
Very gloomy here, and has obviously been raining. I was so cold in the night! I hate this bit where the temperature fluctuates - just know I'll change the duvet to the thicker one only to have the temperature go up again!
Today is just work (I'm teaching all day, and the very littlies too!) with nothing much planned for the evening. Hopefully I'll feel inspired to get some more decluttering done in that little bedrom. Why is it that we (or at any rate I!) always have one rom that all the junk gets dumped into? Only it's not all junk, so every piece of paper has to be loked at, just in case.
Oh well, my tea is brewed, so need to take a cup up to DH and get ready for the day.
(((HUGS))) to all who need one today.

    G'dday N9eav & all to follow,

Just having a cuppa atm. It's been pretty quiet here today. Caught up with the housework, washing, ironing etc and made a loaf of bread with some gingernut biscuits. About to go outside shortly to water the garden seeing as DH won't be home until late. I hope to finally sort out my linen cupboard tomorrow that I painted the other week. Nothing should stick to it by now. :D

The council hasn't arrived yet. Surprise. I expected them to be here in droves yesterday surveying the road. Well will pop back later. Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning Guys!

I feel like I have not slept all night worrying about mum and think I have an infection in my mouth as it tastes funny. Feel really fed up.

Anyway, I must keep focused. Today I have shopping coming from Tesco as I had a £10 voucher off a £70 spend. So after all the discounts and voucher, it came to £52 inc delivery. I have made use of some offers and bought loads of staple items for the cupboards etc.

WM needs to go on in a minute, DW on later and toilet scrubbed:p

Today OH & I are sorting through our massive freezer as theres food out there that has been in the freezer more than 12 months and have been looking up about not keeping meat/poultry items frozen for more than 6 months:confused: We are going to work out what we have and whether to just use up what we have and stop using it as we have a normal size one in the kitchen. Not sure though yet.

Anyway, I need a cuppa and bicie.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

    Morning everyone!
Oh there is a chill in the air this morning, which has lead to dh making a quick list of `winter` items we need before he went to work, including some door curtains and sausage dog draft excluders (will have to find the old tights out!)
Lunch boxes done, ds1 has started having dinners as he is fed up of queing for most of the dinner hour, so that is saving me some cash, he is making fruit salad in tech today hes quite excited about his first cooking lesson not that i call fruit salad cooking!! And i have to send 5p in for syrup??????LOL

Right off to get the tribe up and ready, have a good day everyone

    Morning eveyone

    Drizzly weather here today....
Hubby has left for work, and rememberd his lunch this time:T

Well i got the shopping done yesterday evening so i think today is going to be a "bake" day...even remembered to take thae lard/butter out of the fridge las night:D
    cheese, potato n onion pasties
    savoury meat roll
meat, potato, onion n carrot pasties - i have some meat in the slow cooker and some beetroot boiling mmmm
sure i will think of some more bits n pieces whilst im at it:D
Its round 2 of dbelles challenge....to feed me n hubby for 4 weeeks with 80euros.... so fingers crossed

Trying to keep myself busy today, as i got a call yesterday to say 1 of my sisters has been kept in hospital:eek: .... she has been on a diet n lost loads of weight, but been left looking like she has swallowed a huge ball... she finally gave in and went down to casualty yesterday - only after getting back from holiday, where someone offered her their seat on a bus as they thought she was about to give birth..and then on the plane, the air hostess asked how far gone she was :rotfl: ..shouldn't find it funny but i know that she would have found it hilarious....so they have scanned her and found a "large mass" i think it may be a cyst-as it gets a bit smaller and then will grow again....so fingers crossed for good news... mind you the only thing she is botherd about is that you only get 3 cups of tea a day -she has more than that before you can talk to her in a morning -so i don't envy the nurse that wakes her up:rotfl: :rotfl:

So, with mum last week, my other sister -who it turns out was in the ward next to mum last week - she has holes in her retinas -which they had patched with a silicone thing, only her eyes are rejecting them and all the silicone is sticking to her eyes instead:eek: ..i think my family are trying to get a loyalty card with the hospital..... i have told my mum that they won't earn points, and get vouchers for every visit:rotfl:

    anyway enough rambling for now...
Hugs to all those in need, hope everyone has a great day :D
