Your issue wasn't caused by a drop like in my case. Apple wouldn't have given me a brand new phone for a fault I caused. That's why I sold it and didn't bother even going to Apple. I didn't want another iPhone anyway.
You didn't say in your OP that the fault was one caused by you.
But as I have said, MOVE ON. You are stressing and fussing over NOTHING.0 -
If it's the same one with no repair or a bad repair the buyer will be returning it anyway so he'll regret trying to sell it as new. It'll cost him for doing so.0

I sold it to him as faulty and clearly stated the fault. He can't do anything and he would have to send me back the phone which he couldn't do if he sends it to the buyer. Don't see how he would do anything. I have his money still by the way. I'd get back a phone I can sell for more if he has indeed repaired it. I would actually make more money that way.
I sent it special delivery so he can't say he hasn't received it either. There is his name on the signature so there you go.0 -

Or because, like many, he couldn't understand what use it would be to you or maybe thought you could do something bad with it.
He could have been trying to hide it, not wanting anyone to look it up to see warranty as it'd prove it wasn't new, but he did give it you in the end so seems odd to hide something and then give it anyway.0 -

I said I needed it to check the iCloud status playing dumb. I then just thanked him for the info. He doesn't have any idea I know it's my phone.0 -

He has 180 days to raise a dispute with Paypal for SNAD and 6 years to chargeback, so you might prefer he has a successful sale? Just a thought?0 -

Yeah, but in that case you can't possibly know if he was hiding it and thought you were clueless so happily gave it you or whether he thought you could do something bad but decided you were an honest potential buyer so gave it or whether he's clueless and just accepted your answer as it seemed legit.
He may have lied in the listing, but that doesn't mean he was trying to be smart and hide it, he could just be clueless.0 -

Or hope he doesn't realise he can open a Paypal case/do a chargeback. OP and that guys buyer haven't done anything wrong so it's sad if OP loses out or the buyer is unaware and finds out too late to open a ebay/paypal case whereas the guy did lie so any loss for him is down to his own actions.
That is unless, of course, the buyer is aware and happy with the purchase.0 -

Buys faulty phone off you, fixes it cheaply and sells it on.
New buyer happy until it fails and they claim their money back and return the phone, the lightbulb clicks and they claim the item you sold is faulty and claims a refund from you?
