  • Back to work today- no childcare expenses as DS was at his Grannies.
Unintentional high spend day, Child benefit went in £81.20 all of that was meant to be going into the Christmas savings but then life happened,

Things I would like to achieve:

    - Clean shoes in wardrobe that I have noticed have become dusty and then put in better storage.
    - Surveys
    - Look out a couple of things for facebay/ebay

  • Good day off today with my DS. Visited a friend this morning and pottered around home this afternoon. To do list all achieved as well a few other chores. Updated my budget spreadsheets until Feb 2020 so fingers crossed everything stays on track. Main focus will be sticking to eBay as back in the summer I was making an extra £190 a month from it but to be honest I got bored of it which is just ridiculous. Also started to listening to The Dave Ramsay podcast which I'm enjoying in an oddly macabre way.

  • Back again..
DS is back at school today after the ‘tattie’ holidays. I was expecting him to be anxious this morning but he was excited. The temperature has really dropped here in Scotland so 1st time de-icing the car this morning!
Sold 5 items on EBay last night, only waiting for 1 to pay am happy with that. I’ve made £30 so far this month, I’m going to aim for £30-£50 as a monthly Ebay goal. Also made a few quid on surveys over the last week.
I put the money into the Christmas spends so a few more gifts have been ordered; keeping track of everything is serving me well this year. Also ordered some Christmas
Cards that DS made at school, bit of a rip off but mum guilt took over!
I have also sorted the joint account really for our new way of budgeting from Jan, the OH seems on board which is a miracle in itself!

    Finances:
    Christmas savings: £6.23
    Christmas spends so far: £109.49
Side Hustles October: £178.78 :j (my lovely nan sent me a bit of money so including this)
    Items on eBay: 4

Just delurking to say had you considered that having a joint account with your OH may not be a great idea if you are on a trust deed? Is that the Scottish equivalent of a DMP in England? If your credit record is shot it may drag his record down too by being financially linked to you? Just wondered if you had checked that out.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for popping over.
My OH is also on a trust deed so his credit score is the same as mine.
When I say joint account it’s actually one of my dormant bank accounts which doesn’t have OH’s name attached but we are going to share bills more fairly and use it for food shopping- fingers crossed this works but it will be trial and error until we find what works best!
