£9.98 in Boots- some make up and conditioner I needed, they also had a free gift offer so treated myself to a nail varnish and got a free lipstick and nail varnish!

Had a very low spend day
    - Postage for Ebay item £6 covered by buyer
    - £1.50 for brown parcel paper as I have run out of jiffy bags

I paid £8.50 of change from the change pot into my bills account as it looked quite low.
The OH was given a £200 amazon voucher from work which will be excellent for Christmas and Little one's birthday in Feb.

Still counting down the days to payday, 4 days to go! I finally have a day off tomorrow, I really need it!
    To do:
    - List 5 items minimum on Ebay
    - post 4 Ebay times
    - Dust, hoover, clean kitchen
    - Write definite Christmas list and order from Amazon
    - Spend some much needed quality time with Little one

    Becks
  • That's a great voucher to get, and will definitely come in handy. I've never worked for a place where we get things like that!

Did you manage to get everything done? x

  • Apologies for being AWOL for a week, I had a sickness bug last week as well as little one's school inset days- we still managed to get the decorations up so the house is feeling very christmassy.
Payday came and went last Tuesday- All bills and debt payments have come out of the account. I have paid a total of £1608 off my debt over the last few months, i'm quite proud of myself... just need to keep plugging away.
Christmas shopping is pretty much finished, I need to buy a bottle of booze and sweets as well as getting all the wrapping done I also need to buy my family's Christmas cards and get them posted. I have gone a little over budget with the OH and secret Santa's budget but have not purchased anything on credit which is a big deal for me especially over the Christmas period.
We have a few Christmassy days out planned but determined to keep the costs down, the local railway have a Santa train ride but it will be £35 for us all-i will see how the month pans out before purchasing.

  • Wow nearly 2 years since I last updated, I’ve come back with my tail between my legs.

What’s happened over the last 2 years:
    - We moved house
    - OH got a new job and has since passed 2 degrees which has given him a promotion of sorts
    - My DS is now 6 :)
    - I set up a trust deed to manage my debts, this will be paid off in 4 years time roughly June 2023  this has reduced so much worry regarding money and has really changed my mindset around money and spending.

I will pop on with an updated SOA in a couple of days.

My main goals for the rest of the year:
    • Knuckle down and get a decent amount saved for Christmas: goal is £635. I will be buying bits over the weeks so will keep a track to make sure I don’t go over budget- I have an app for this :D
    • No new clothes or accessories to be purchased in November! This is a biggie for me but I am determined!
    • Side hustle £50 for the rest of October and £100 in November and December.

January will bring a whole new budget, me and the OH are going to venture into joint account territory.

It’s my last day off tomorrow after a weeks holiday, My Plan of action is:
    •NSD
    •List 5 items on eBay
    •clean bathroom
    •surveys
    •upload updated SOA
•meal plan for the week and food shop (OH Currently pays for groceries)
•enjoy quality time with DS- I found a Lego set we can build :D

I plan on updates every couple of days to stay accountable.

    Finances:
    Christmas savings: £39.45
    Christmas spends: £50

    Speak soon,

Hi, I know this is an old thread, just wanted to say good luck on paying the debt and it’s really good that you’re trying.
My advice is just to save up as much as you can and try to buy only the necessary.
    Whatever happens don’t worry :)
  • Quiet day today- tried to enjoy my last day of freedom before going back to work tomorrow. Lots of cleaning and washing done so i'm ahead for the week

    My Plan of action:
    [STRIKE]•NSD[/STRIKE] DONE
    •List 5 items on eBay
    [STRIKE]•clean bathroom [/STRIKE]DONE
[STRIKE]•surveys [/STRIKE]DONE £1.36 cashed out from curious cat

•[STRIKE]meal plan for the week[/STRIKE] and food shop (OH Currently pays for groceries)
•[STRIKE]enjoy quality time with DS- I found a Lego set we can build [/STRIKE]DONE

Will list the ebay items tonight with a glass of wine in hand. We had enough food in so need for a food shop and I really didn't fancy leaving the house. Shopping list and meal plan done for the week so will pop to the shops tomorrow or Tues.

    Finances:
    Christmas savings: £40.81
    Christmas spends: £50

    Things to do tomorrow:
