How about when it arrives you decide that you no longer want it and rather than being liable for the return postage costs, you damage the item and open a SNAD so that the seller has to pay for the return.
Then again you could open a returns request and send back a totally different item.
All of the above do happen and when they do would you still consider that as the buyer's "job is done" due to them paying, they still deserve positive feedback?0 -
I bought something a few months ago, it came and I left feedback the day it arrived. Then a whole 6 weeks later, I got a somewhat tersely worded email asking me to "leave positive feedback as we just left you some". Kind of put my back up seeing as I'd already done my part weeks before! I very rarely get feedback when I sell things....it does annoy me because I at least want to know it got there ok, but I've come to terms with it now!0

You "have paid instantly" to PayPal, not to the seller. Huge difference. The Seller can withdraw these "funds" from PayPal but PayPal can recover this from the seller at any point in the following 6 months. So you haven't really "paid" the seller until 6 months are up. So why should the seller leave you feedback so soon? You haven't paid the seller yet!forgotmyname wrote: »There is nothing else for me to do except wait for my feedback and my goods.forgotmyname wrote: »My job is done.
Your "job is done" only when:
1) You wait 6 months after making a PayPal payment.
or
2) You pay using a non-reversible payment method.
Now, you have actually paid the seller, and now the seller has a valid reason to leave you feedback.0 -
Wow, contentious issue. As someone who used to buy on ebay and now just mainly sells (all the stuff I bought previously ;-) but in all seriousness, as a long term ebay user, I have two questions and allow me to preface them by saying I believe feedback is important.
1. If no-one leaves feedback, then that is the end of ebay as far as small sellers are concerned. And even with some business sellers. I always check sellers feedback before buying, if there are a quite a few negs, I don't buy. I rely on feedback for making decisions between sellers.
2. I don't leave feedback for buyers until I hear from them that item received and that they are happy. I've seen two many instances of sellers leaving instance feedback and then getting hit with negs. Which may or may not be justified but since everything is weighted in favour of buyers, I reserve this.
I always send buyers an email when item has been sent saying that I would appreciate acknowledgement of receipt/feedback and that I will reciprocate. They don't do it, I don't leave feedback.
Cash on collection - I always leave feedback the same day that item has been collected and cash handed over. Regardless. Transaction is complete.
Just my random thoughts. Please don't shoot me.0
