Normally aim to be there half an hour early. You could always email the skeleton to the other side tonight! Then they do have it!

  • Thanks Coupon.

I will send an email across tonight, i'll have to scan it all though. Does that include all evidence?

That also gives them time to prepare more doesn't it?

You don't have to include the case transcripts as long as the skeleton refers to them. You then produce the actual transcripts at the hearing (take 3 copies with you). With the lease, you can just append the relevant pages but take the FULL lease with you to show the Judge if asked.

  • Excellent.

I will PDF the skeleton tonight and then bring the complete hard copy on the day.

Do i only need one copy of the lease agreement? I have 3 copies of it, one for each party - or is that not a good idea? Should i only offer this if the judge requests?

Take 3 copies and offer one to each party Inc the judge. You have to be seen to be as open and reasonable as possible.

    Thanks!!

Question, the claimant highlighted particular paragraphs or sentences from the exhibits they included, is it a good idea to do the same?

Oh if you have 3 full copies, take all 3 to assist the court. I didn't realise you had the copies already.

Yes if it helps you/the Judge find the relevant part quickly.

  • Thanks everyone.

    So, my understanding is.
    1) get there early (trying for 1.5hrs in advance)
    2) Submit one of the copies of the skeleton argument and evidence to the court so that is available for the judge prior to the case.
    3) Keep 2 local copies, one for me and one for the claimant.
    4) Hand a copy to the claimant once proceedings start.

Anything else i have missed or any other advice?

Do you refer to the judge as sir/madam?
