Thanks MV! Yet it did! I thought 'Oh I can do this one, it's only a few colours!' It took me a few weeks! Lol!

Make sure you send it to someone who'll appreciate the hours put in then!

I came over here to say I've worked out how to ring every last penny from the virtual mastercard thing.... I've just used another (normal) card to top my Am gift card balance up to exactly the amount needed to fulfil the order value (i.e. I had a GC balance of £11, a prepaid card balance of £8.34 and the total bill was £22.38, so I've topped up my GC balance using my proper cc by £3.04). It's just gone through, so I think I've cracked it! Thought it might be worth sharing with you as you said you'd got a couple of quid left on one. It does require you to need an Amazon order, and it's fiddly and I won't be doing it again, but at least it means all that hard-earned surveying money gets used!

DH has just pointed out I could have used the mastercard to top up my balance.... that would have been easier!! :rotfl:

The card is for my grandparents so I'm sure they'll appreciate the effort!

MV you are a star!! I never thought about that! I will make sure I look at doing that next time I order something! I picked the mastercard over a cheque because I thought it would be easier and I'd get it straight away, I think I'll wait for the cheque next time!! x

The normal mortgage payment came out yesterday which includes an overpayment of £50 and takes our new total to £62,474.00. When the interest is added on I'll look at doing an overpayment but that's not until the 9th September so I'll just have to have some patience until then! I did get a letter from Natwest the other day which told me my overpayment allowance for the year, this has never happened in the 10 years we've been in this house so I think they must know I mean business with paying off my mortgage asap!

Finally got my Onepoll payment of £40 today which I will put into the savings pot as we are nearly at £3000!

I also got the pet insurance renewal for my two puppers and it's gone up £80 for the year!!!! I will definitely be doing some comparison searches and changing providers! I'll make sure I call them to cancel the policy though because they may offer to match the new price. Well that's what happened with DH's car insurance anyway! Cheeky beggers!

    Have a lovely weekend!

Good luck negotiating the pet insurance down. As bothersome as it is, it is worth having when you need it!

The interest for the mortgage was added on the other day and took the total to £62,627.22. I've called and made an overpayment of £127.22 which means the new total will be £62,500.00. It's not as much as I wanted to overpay but we had an unexpected expense of a new computer for DH, he's a big gamer and his current one is no longer doing the job! He also needed a new chair and monitor to go with it. We don't have a lot of treats so it's not money I begrudge spending but unfortunately it has eaten into out emergency fund so mortgage overpayments will only be small until we get it back up.

Still soldiering on with the surveys but they seem to have been abit slow lately and I haven't been able to cash out recently!

    Have a lovely week!

  • I totally get what you mean about DH being a gamer and equipment not cutting it anymore. My husband's the same, very few things he spends his money on so I don't begrudge him the odd things he wants to purchase.

I've found Prolific to be very slow at the moment but I wondered if that's because it's academic research and the schools and unis closed for summer. Might start to pick up soon?

  • Hi.

Just dropping by to say thank you - you are inspiring! On both the Crafting and the mortgage over payments. :T

Sorry I have been lurking about trying to get extra tips to get my mortgage ops back on track, and will be back. Many thanks for the push in the right direction. :j

I wandered into the Crafting board here, and I am attempting to use up my stash before spending more. It all helps toward the end of the mortgage.

    Thanks Fiona
