I agree, you should be very proud of that figure... look at this way, in the 10 years before you started being a MFW you paid off £16.8k and then in the last year you have paid off over half of that amount. I'll say it again so you realise how amazing your achievement is... in just ONE YEAR you have managed to pay off OVER HALF of the amount you paid off in a whole DECADE!!!!! sorry for the shouty caps but I think you really need to take a moment and realise what an achievement that is
Well done!

Thanks ch4rly!! I really didn't look at it that way so definitely putting it in shouty capitals has made me realise that you are right!! I am proud of how far we've come but I find it is easy to dwell on how much is left to go! Thanks though, I really appreciate it! xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Hi Everyone! Hope you're all ok? Haven't been on much lately as I have been busy with a new venture which i hope added to my survey money will make me atleast a part time wage each month.
On the mortgage front this is where we stand: The amount is £61,635.54. DH has been paid for December which included his Christmas bonus, this means I have been able to make an overpayment today of £2,635.54 and makes our new total £59,000!!!!
I'm so happy we managed to reach our target of getting under £60K by the end of the year and also the £5K target i set myself on the MFW 2017 thread. I think we may even have a takeaway tonight to celebrate!!!
In other news, I have pretty much finished my Christmas shopping with just a couple of presents left to buy and all the ones I have already bought are wrapped up and ready to go. I've decided not to buy any Christmas cards this year, I have made my own cross-stitch cards for close family members and then I'm not sending out any others. I've come round to the idea that Christmas cards are a waste of money and not good for the environment. I am a little nervous what people will think when they don't receive a card but I'd much rather just give the money to charity.
I'm going to try and make more of an effort to keep my diary up-to-date because I don't want to let our mortgage free journey slip!
Have a lovely day!
