Lloyds have frozen my account

Global Transactions are the only team that can remove that particular block, and they may be waiting on contact from a 3rd party bank - if the money has only recently come in. These blocks can take some time, and it can be frustrating but trust me it isn't the bank being awkward - sometimes their hands are tied too.
As for the arguement over 646 - it will block all incoming payments and refer the credit to an offhshore team who then speak to the owning department and ask if they want it crediting. This is for all payments except faster payments, which will automatically bounce back.Fraudsters are like Pokemon - Gotta catch em all.0 -
So I had an op on Tuesday and tried to transfer some money to my Boyfriend PayPal account only to discover the bank has blocked my account. I had no money on me nothing to buy food or take a cab home.. I called Lloyd’s and was told to take I’d to branch which on Friday as soon as I left the hospital. On arrival I was told oh there is nothing they can do.. I have called and called no response please any idea how long till they get back to me before I die of hunger! My pay bounced back and my car insurance didn’t go through either.. please any suggestions will be helpful0

On the priority issue of getting something to live on, if all of your money is tied up in one Lloyds account then you'll have to beg or borrow from someone else while this takes its course - if you were trying to transfer money to boyfriend's PayPal account then presumably he wouldn't stand by and watch you starve? So I had an op on Tuesday and tried to transfer some money to my Boyfriend PayPal account only to discover the bank has blocked my account. If your pay has bounced back, can your employer make some sort of cash advance as a one-off perhaps?
If Lloyds won't tell you what's going on then this would suggest that they suspect something fraudulent in how the account has been used. The usual recommendation is to start by finding out if they've placed a marker with CIFAS by sending them (CIFAS) a Subject Access Request, as per https://www.cifas.org.uk/contact-us/subject-access-request0 -
Is Lloyds your only account ?
A couple of things are likely to happen - 1) that your account will be released or 2) Lloyds will permanently close your account
In the meantime borrow from your boyfriend
The general school of thought on this forum is that you should have at least two accounts to allow for situations like this.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Does an SAR request work for issues with business accounts as well??0

Not necessarily, there could be any number of reasons that the bank has suspicions, many of which wouldn't be initiated by a sender of funds.FriendlyFoe wrote: »If you have been told to go the branch, upon initial contact, then that’s a procedure of the back off a payment into your account, that’s been claimed as fraud by the sender.
OP - unfortunately nobody can give you any meaningful guidance about how long it'll take for Lloyds to complete their investigation, in that it could be weeks or it could be months (or maybe even days if you're lucky), so you just need to grit your teeth and accept that you won't be seeing that money for a while. They're not allowed to keep it indefinitely though, so unless it's proven to be fraudulent in some way then you should get it back eventually....
As before, I recommend you find out what CIFAS know - if Lloyds have put a marker against you then it'll be difficult to open an account with another bank, but if your CIFAS record is clear then you could open another account elsewhere and get your salary paid into that.0
