Morning all :) Safe to say I'm loving my maternity leave, I feel so much less tired and stressed! Today I plan on saying in as I've been out everyday so far this week and would like to save some petrol today! So today's list is:
    - Check bank accounts - Today is payday (woohoo!) so I've moved my money about and paid what needs to be paid - Done
    - Surveys/Swagbucks
    - Enter competitions
    - Chill out and watch more of the boxset I'm currently into - Pretty Little Liars! I'm actually really into it! :)
    - Move SB cash out into my ISA from Paypal

I think that's all for today :) Happy Friday all! x

    Afternoon all,

    Maria, how exciting!

Its been a horrid/stressful month with lots of problems but after sending an email last night and subsequent phone call this morning, I'm hoping that I can mentally move on now and enjoy the kids half term next week without worrying.

Not a nsd for me as I decided to get my hair cut (first time since January apart from trimming my own fringe!) Glad I went today as I found out that the salon is closing in a couple of weeks. There won't be much left in our little town apart from £shops, charity shops and coffee shops at this rate :(

Anyway I better get some sort of list up and make the most of my quiet time before the kids break up from school. ;)

    To do
    * Get nuggets/waffles/icecream from 1celand rather then taking kids & friends to mcd's Done and used rm vouchers to pay for it
    * Check banking/update spreadsheets
    * Quick tidy round with stardrops/cloths Done
    * Find something for me & dh to eat to stop the call to the takeaway (don't do this very often but always when unorganised)
    * Clear my desk, make sure nothing gets lost Done
    * Update xmas gift list Done as I bought kids calendars from £stretcher, some pens/notepads whilst in town this morning

Sure there's lots more but I've gone blank.... need more coffee
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi October Octopi, (Still struggling for a suitable piece of alliteration!) :rotfl:

The Wee Geek is a wee bit less muddled. :D

Managed to do a few more things:

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * Deposited a big cheque into DW's business bank account.

    * Finally treated Mickey Finn the Micra to a new battery. Negotiated £5 off because we were kept waiting. ;)

    * Spent two valuable coupons equating to £2 off.

    * Postie bought two lots of postage stamps rewards from RM Surveys. I'll eBay them.

    * Bought yellow sticker Scotch. That's the first time I've seen alcohol with a YS on.

And I'm still at it. I'm going to do some maintenance on DW's laptop which is going "too slow" before she wants to go out and buys a new one.

Live long, live well and prosper.

Pleased to have got my list done today, it wasn't much but it all helps :)

Kids happily playing with their friends now and its lovely to hear them all laughing and playing nicely together.
Looking forward to my oh get home and starting our family week off together properly.
So before that can happen I need to....
    * Sort the last of the washing out and iron any bits that really need it, if not I'll just hang straight away Done
    * Make the kids tea instead of going to Mc'ds like we'd usually do if they have friends over Done
    * Find a family film to watch either from our stash/amaz0n or netf1ix and get some popcorn out of the useup box as a treat
    * Quick hoover round
    * Stick the dishwasher on a quick wash and only add 1/2 a tablet Done
    * Get out the box of winter hats/scarves etc and swop over the drawers and put away the summer hats Done (need to check them over as well as see if there are any that can go to the cs Done )

Think that's about it, I've had a :coffee: so really ought to move!

    Evening all :)
I have been rubbish at posting this week, but read all the posts :)
Ziggy, hope your OH is ok :(
Maria, congrats on the new addition :)

    Today I have:
Started to make the quince jelly - cut up fruit, added water and cooked it on the hob, drained through the jelly bag and am currently reboiling the pulp with a bit more water. I will put it back into the jelly bag, leave it to drain overnight, and actually make the jelly tomorrow probably. I have decided to flavour this batch with dried mint, to make a mint jelly :) Probably will only make the one batch as I still have some left from last year (I have a big stash of preserves, try to make different things each year). I have googled for other quince ideas, and it looks as though you can just use them instead of apples or pears in recipes, so I will try that, as I had quite a big crop from my little tree :)

Shopping - needed mince to make a big shepherds pie to take to DS tomorrow. Also ingredients for Xmas mincemeat, which I hope to make over the weekend :)

Took some unwanted kitchen bits to the CS while I was out :)

Work stuff - listed more things on ebay, posted today's parcels and popped into physical sales space which is not doing nearly so well as the digital one!

HM meals from stores, used up some bits for lunch, and other bits got put into the shepherds pies I made this afternoon :)

Load of washing dry on line :)

Wood burner alight now, so pup and I are toasting our toes (or in his case, all of him :rotfl:) as OH has disappeared out into his workshop.

Ally YS scotch?? Wow. What was wrong with it? Surely whiskey has no use by date? Glad you are feeling more on top of things.

  • Morning everyone :hello:

We're back from our (reasonably frugal) few days away, helped by us being taken out twice for food ;) lovely time was had by all. Washing mountain waiting to be climbed in kitchen, one load done on cheap, another squeezed in as up early. Weather looks ok, so hopefully will be able to get some of it dry outside. Had to take bedding with us so have 3 lots and swimming kit and towels for everyone plus the usual :o

Ziggy hope your DH is ok
Lucky lady lovely to **see** you
Twiggy what watch did you get, I'm a constant 33 minute 5k runner and would love to get under 30, would be interested to know.

    My list for today:

    Washing, washing and more washing.
2 X DD to swimming lessons, Pre paid, thankfully there at the same time
Check freezer and make a meal plan for week, pop for a small fresh shop
    Strip DD bedroom
Check tomato plant for red ones and water
DVD tonight with smalls, make homemade popcorn from cupboard
Put away presents that I have bought for Christmas in loft to make room in spare room, put suitcase away whilst there. Make sue I have them all on my list so I know what I've got
Check spends from holiday and move from holiday piggy to cover

Think that's about all, off to catch up with a couple of diaries. PF.
