Hi there,
Well, work was crazy this week for some reason, so have only just caught up with the thread. Dailies done, but plan to blitz the house Saturday and Sunday.
Bossy- wonderful reports, you must be so proud and rightly so x
Valli- thinking of you and your sister x
Lamewolf- Good luck, not that you'll need it, from all your lovely posts they will be very lucky to have you x
Ok, so what to have for tea?? Think I have some mince to use up, so meatballs and spaghetti, me thinks.
2x WM done, about 5 loads to go!!
Food shop all done and put away
Bathroom been sprayed and left to soak in, so quick cuppa then on to the bathroom.
See you tomorrow x0 -
Afternoon all, just finished the paid stuff for the week.
Bossy - you're right to be proud of your gorgeous children, enjoy your break.
LW - hope all goes well and you keep getting lots of doggy visitors.
Valli - thinking of you and yours.
Lynne - hope you're enjoying the new car.
Flying before the paid stuff today consisted of washing up the breakfast dishes, walking the dogs, changing our bedding and doing three washloads.
Still not quite in a proper routine because of puppy, I may need to do some catching up at the weekend, although if the weather is nice, I may spend some time gardening.
Hope everyone is having a great Friday.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good luck with the dog-care application, Lamewolf. I wish you lived closer because I know you and Kelpie would be brilliant together. And - yes, grooming counts as flying, particularly as if you don't comb and catch the stuff, it needs vacuumming up. (As I found to my cost today. Stick cleaners need emptying A LOT when you have a Kelpie.)
In addition to the Kelpie-cleaning-up I have swept and washed the kitchen floor, done a load of washing and pegged it out, tidied the pots on the front steps, watered the tree, de-minged a birdfeeder, handwashed dusters and a summer dress and finallly sorted the car gibble into one box. And OH has taken a huge bag of stuff to the CS, at last.
House looks much better.Better is good enough.0 -
I achieved some tidying in the study bedroom this morning, but there's still more to be done.
DH took me out for lunch as he had a "40% off mains" voucher - nom-nom
Then we went for a walk up to the top of the big hill (NT property) nearby and enjoyed the clear view for miles in glorious sunshine and with hardly anyone else in sight, though (and this is for Dizzy and LW) we did meet some beautiful ridgebacks, serene mother and flighty young daughter. I could happily adopt one of them.
Well done on the application phonecall, LW. The fact that they sent you an application form proves that you clearly made a good impression :T Ronnie's mum and Mr LW's pal both know that you are devoted to your visitors so I'm sure you will get fabulous references. As regards the house, the boss will only want to know that it's a doggy home-from-home with a securely enclosed garden. You will pass with flying colours! And yes, grooming dogs is definitely a form of flying and to be encouraged :j
DH got his blood test result today and it requires further investigation, in addition to the TIA referral, so I am expecting several horse piddle visits over the next few weeks
My goddaughter has booked to come and visit us for two nights in November, which will be fun
The sun is setting and I must go and make some soup for tea...0 -
Everything crossed for smooth swap to the new dog sitting job LW.
Had my me time the kids treated me to an overnight break so me had Dh headed out and have spent the last couple of days lazing in steam rooms saunas jacuzzis and swimming pools. It was lovely.
Done a few little diy jobs since we got back and have just put tea on.
Hope everyone is as well as they can be.
Adding extra coping vibes for Valli and hope your sister is getting lots of care and pain management is being monitored peoperly for her.SPC~12 ot 124

Ooh MrsMP that sounds lovely.
I'm just saying hello, not much flying done this week, I've just seemed really busy. I plan to blitz the place tomorrow, then I have a week off the paid stuff, hooray! Lots of work on house is planned, plus a weekend in Scotland.
Iona, hope your DH is OK (and you too)x
LW you were born to look after dogs, you love them all! Well done with getting the application sorted.
Bossy have a good holiday.
Valli continuing hugs for you and yours x
Dizzy, we have managed to escape the horrors of the Halloween fancy dress disco this year. The children are gutted, me and OH not so much! Have fun x
I'm off for a beer and to watch something on TV that OH would object to (because he is out!)
See you tomorrow x0 -
And in other news I have a spotless kitchen...Woot!
and finally sis has been transferred to the spinal unit so, fingers crossed, they will operate tomorrow!

Morning all. Valli hope all goes well for your sister.
Such a lot to do today, yuck. Family coming over later and this week's been busy at work so not had much chance to clean. I like doing a bit of pottering at the weekend but don't feel enthusiastic about all I need to do today.
Once I get started I'll get in the swing.0 -
Morning all
Hope your sister is comfortable and the op is successful Valli.
Hugs to all who need them
Took a bag full of stuff to local CS this morning, did mils and our shopping need to take hers round in a bit put it away and sort her tablets. Have asked bathroom fitter friend to tile her bathroom floor when he's got a gap in his workload. Taking dad and step mum out for lunch today with Dh and my sister. There was a marked deterioration in dad's dementia last time I saw him 5 weeks ago so it's not going to be an easy afternoon. (Sister hasn't seen him for about two years so I've been keeping her updated and warned her what to expect but im sure she thinks I'm over exaggerating.) I ring step mum regularly and am in awe of how she copes.
Got some stuff to put in attic in a bit and hoping work friend will pop round with her son as I've offered him first dibs on a surplus bed before it goes on free cycle
Then going to have a quick S&S round so everywhere is reasonably tidy.
Have a good afternoon everyone and ry to put a bit of me time in your day.SPC~12 ot 124
