  • PLEASE HELP (I also do not know how to use this site, i'm just learning)
I am so confused with what option is best. I am a regular shopper to Lidl in Llanishen, Cardiff. On this occasion my daughter was parked in Lidl in Cathays, Cardiff. The maximum stay is 2 hours. After shopping (she threw away the receipt) and returned to her car but she went over the two hours by 3 minutes. Entry to the car park was at 12.42 and departure is 14.45. Can someone advise me whether I should answer the letter or not. She is only 19 years so fraught with worry. They have sent photos of the car but the driver is not visable from the copy they have sent. I thank you in advance x

The following email addresses are technically valid:

    christian.haertnagel@lidl.com
    christian.haertnagel@lidl.co.uk
    christian.hartnagel@lidl.com

(His German name uses the umlaut accent, so it gets converted in different ways.)

These email addresses exist in the domain MX records - but that doesn't guarantee you'll get a reply. They will have a spam/unwanted filter, so use a real email address and a sensible subject line without caps or !!! emojis etc.

I think some have had problems with this particular address, which I have assumed was as the result of the missing 'e' in the surname.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hello. Here is the email for the Managing Director of Lidl. christiandothaertnagelatlidldotcodotuk OR christian.haertnagel@lidl.co.uk to be precise. Please note the spelling - it is "haer" rather than "har" because there is an umlaut in his German surname which we don't have as a character in English. Hence an "e" is inserted in his email address.

(I tried several versions and have not received any unknow email reply so far, after 10 minutes. This version seems to work).

To everyone who has been unfairly or incorrectly fined for parking when they have shopped at Lidl. Please email him. Hopefully Lidl will see the sense to change their policies over time.

I too have suffered the same fate. Looking at the thread above, I hope this helps. Keep the faith.
