I like Bob. You could pretend it was short for Barbara, maybe?
Or just have a longer name in general that you could shorten to something with one syllable.
I've got an Auntie Bob - short for Roberta. As a child I could never get to grips with the expression "Bob's your uncle" when infact she was my Auntie!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Just wanted to add my thoughts...my middle name is May and was always the source of amusement (may what?)...... and my husbands initials and surname spell Tastewart!!!0

I forgot to say, this is for a middle name.
We think we are now just about sorted on the first name, and she is to have two middle names (family tradition) we are near enough agreed on one of the middle names.
We had two but there was no flow to the name, it sounded like we just plucked names out of the air and chanted them.
So tradition is that the second middle name is one syllable, so trying to go for one we both agree on, which is hard work, as we haven't been terribly united over the name so far!
Thanks again
you could be cruel and pick Mo and Jo...0
