I think we are just about there, having altered her first name twice, my poor toddler hasn't a clue what his baby sister should called be!
We would like a one syllable girls name (don't ask about the rules over naming our children, it drives me round the bend!)
So far we haven't been able to agree on that either.
Can people come up with some suggestions of girls names of one syllable?
Thanks for your help, we will hopefully name her come week 4!
I read this and automatically thought it should be Bee or Bea,maybe you subconsciously thought it when you wrote this line"his baby sister should called be!"0 -
We had the sanme problem when my daughter was born. We had chosen Eleanor as her first name and we have a double barrelled surname (nowt to do with me - hubby already had it when I met him! )
We felt with a 3 syllable first name and 4 syllable surname she needed a short middle name (didn't want to not have one)
We decided on Rose as it seemed to go with Eleanor.
I guess it depends on your daughter's first name as to which middle name will go. Any short names in the family e.g. Grandma's?
Good luck whatever you decide!

a girl i went school with did this and ended up calling her daughter....................CHRIS
Hi, Im a female Kris.
Whats so weird about that? Ive met quite a few in my time!
Back to OP, I like shortened names. My brothers are Richard and Timothy, both have been called Rich and Tim there whole life other than by elderly relative! My logic is whats the point in giving your child a name if your only going to shorten it.
Like I wouldnt call my child thomas it would be tom, or melissa would be mel. I KNOW Id end up shortening it so may as well keep it official.
How about Jo or Elle? Both very prettyGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
Joss - although also man's name and no doubt abbrievated from Jocelyn (sp?)?
Jeanne (pronounced Zjan)

Well, out of the sugguestions made so far, I would favour Rose - I like old names that can be 'grown up' with.
What about Pip or Eve?0 -
Just about any girl's name under the sun can and will be shortened to one syllable.....0
