One Syllable girls names

Whatever name you choose, kids will either shorten it or use a nickname. I rejected so many because I didn't like the "shorts".
I vote for Niamh or Rose for a one syllable name. Or any of the traditional virtues or flower names would be nice.
You've probably already thought of this but, if you can't agree on one name, constant variety can be had with one of the long traditional names e.g. Margaret - Meg, Maggie, Peg, Peggy, Daisy, Margot, Madge, etc. A different name for every day of the week. lol0 -
Eve, Dee, Rae, Jess, Kay, Cyd, Shea (pronounced Shay),Nell, Tess, Jay0

Thanks all.
I forgot to say, this is for a middle name.
We think we are now just about sorted on the first name, and she is to have two middle names (family tradition) we are near enough agreed on one of the middle names.
We had two but there was no flow to the name, it sounded like we just plucked names out of the air and chanted them.
So tradition is that the second middle name is one syllable, so trying to go for one we both agree on, which is hard work, as we haven't been terribly united over the name so far!
Thanks again0 -
Poor you.
We called both of ours 'boy' for the first 6 weeks of their lives
Just to throw another spanner into the works, do check how the first name in full goes with the middle initials.
we thought we had it sorted, two nice names, and a set of initials that did not spell a rude word of silly TLA.
Then we got his passport back, and first name in full plus middle initial is very silly!
I won't post it one here...as I don't want everyone knowing my boys' names, but may pm it to you if you really want!!
And I have no idea about girls names....sorryI live in a testosterone dominated house.

Aah!A middle name dillemma- if you give us a clue re first name we might be better able to help...
My 2p worth is don't use May/Mae I just think it is hillarious as a middle name- nice 1st name but as Ermintrude May or what ever I just think "May what??" and it could make for some awful surname combos at marriage.
Also, I don't know if you are into the whole hyphenate name thing that is big at the moment, but there are so many, that I personally wouldn't choose a combo that sounds like it should/could be one of those eg the lovely "Emma-Leigh" (what's wring with Emily??) "Casey-rae" brood etc
My DD2 is Rose (1st name) which is pretty, very serviceable name- even if she is "rosie " to her mates:rotfl:0 -
My girls middle names are
Kate and
Ruth.
If that's any help. We don't ever use them though, and DD1 insists her middle name isn't Ruth it's May!!!0 -
Don't name her Fay... people always spell it wrong. Take it from meMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
What about Beth?0

Pip?
I just thought of Beth too but was beaten to it. Think all the others have been mentioned unless you get very obscure. It all depends on your baby's first name and your surname, it's hard to know what goes well.
Mine's Anne and I always get asked is that with an E or without.0 -
Why hasn't anyone suggested Gaye?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
